As all of you know, Valentines Day is coming up. Which means... lots of thinking for guys, especially if its the first valentines.

I wanted to write a letter (nothing too corny) with a box of chocolate but my friend is Chinese and I am Korean. Of course, I could write in English, but whats the fun in that? I would like to write something in Chinese (traditional) or however you write in Hong Kong.

I'm not sure how I am going to do this but if you guys can help me out, I'd be eternally grateful. I'm planning to handwrite it (basically draw based on the characters I see on my screen).

If anyone is fluenet in Chinese, please help me out.

    Write in Korean.

There seems to be a craze for all things Korean nowadays so she'd be more impressed.

but she won't understand a thing I write. And I dun think she's on the bandwagon of the Korean crazedness.

Chinese is REALLY hard compared to Korean so I'm sure she'll realize I spent hours copying out each character.

I would say write in English (or Korean with an English translation)? Because then at least she would know that the message would be more heartfelt because you know what you're writing.. there would be no point in writing in Chinese but then having her go "Oh that's so sweet!" and ask you a question about it and you having no idea what's going on :p.

And if you really want to do something in Chinese you could find a good Chinese song?? I know very few of them but one that's good is Di Yi Ci (The First Time) by Guang Liang... the music video is really cute :D.

I get your point... It would be weird afterall if I just randomly copied something off the internet. I guess I'll write it in Korean and then have one Chinese sentence at the very end.

I guess that last chinese sentence can be pretty corny.

ANyone have any good ones they know? ^_^

You could always add something quick/short like 我愛你 (I love you). Yes, very corny, but what else is Valentine's Day but an excuse to get our real corniness out?? :p

    I dun really want to write a poem...It seems a little childish. I'm 20 right now T.T

English is out of the question though. Shes not very good with idiomatic things and it seems pretty plain T.T

This must be some girl ! :)

However I'm a girl.. and really not that far away from you in terms of age.. I wouldn't mind if a boy wrote me a poem ;), but I definitely understand if that's not your forte.

I hope you find a solution soon! :D

I don't advise poetry or anything overly sappy. Too sappy gets weird. You need just the right amount of cheese.

Maybe something like 'I will always be there for you.'

But that depends. Are you already dating?

I'd agree with that (even if I'm a guy).

The other day I was joking with a friend - went to the window next to her desk, blew some breath/air/? so that a bit of it becomes misty, then draw a heart.

    The reaction?

Delighted, due to the fact that it's so simple yet guys nowadays don't seem to do little little things like this anymore.
