the yonex recommended tension are often ignored.. i want to know wad is the max tension that a ns 9k x can hold. btw elastic ti should help the racket frame be more durable right??
Well first...what do you plan to string the tension at? 30lbs should be no problem. Although you have to take risks doing such high tensions because one clash+mishit=busted racquet.
i'd have to say aroun 22 lbs not to loose nor tight jus aroun the right spot u a high tension jus increases the risk of breaking a racket alot easier
So true. The highest I've strung 9000s are 31 x 34lbs. with BG65 and 30x33lbs. with BG66. The owner of the rackets could barely clear 3/4 court and person is an advanced player.
From my experience, a definite yes, the U.S. Coded ones anyway. They are quite durable. Very high tension (30+ lbs.) and no frame breakage due to lots of mishits. Kudos to Yonex, they got the 9000 to my satisfaction in terms of durability. And it's not easy to satisfy this panda when it comes to that.
wait, do you really need such a high tension? or are you just worried about durability? this racket is very durable as Dink says, I wouldn't worry at all about stuff under 30lb, of course make sure you have a good stringer.
i use my ns 9k strung at 23lbs with bg 68ti but use to at 30 so anything in between that shhould be easy
Pro's use NS9000S with 13 - 14 kg (around 30 lbs). I've seen 3 NS9000's been broken in one set... I asked the same question (what is "safe" tension for NS9000S) from finnish Yonex guys, old pro's, who said that 25 - 28 lbs should be safe. Just don't hit the racquet to anything else than shuttle...
