    hi jayda,

all of these clubs almost always allow guests to just drop in. i don't of the other clubs in central montreal as i only play in the west island area.

i visited montreal for the first time last week and i fell in love with the city! loved it so much i'm in the process of signing a lease on an apartment in central montreal, and i'm not yet familiar w/ the surrounding areas.

how far from central montreal are these places?
how is the level of play at these clubs?
are some clubs nicer than others?

p.s. - see you at the montreal formula 1 grand prix!! :D

    Great! Welcome to Montreal!

All of these places are in the western suburbs of the Montreal Island: better known as the West Island. If you're driving, then most of these clubs are about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown, with little traffic. When there's traffic, it could take you upwards of 35-45 minutes. If you're taking public transportation, it's about a 30 minute train ride and then you have to catch a bus. You can get more info about public transit at www.stm.info where there's a route planner.

    Own Court ?

You all have been very helpfull but... what i would like to know is where are the courts where you can reserve and play without all the other folks. I hate to have to wait around every match I play, I lose all my stamina.

So once again if anyone could please tell me if there is any place in the west island where you can reserve, pay, and play all you want without the stress of waiting.

    Thank you

    Greg:confused:

those kind of places do not exist in montreal.

i moved to montreal last year & i belong to 2 clubs now...

this one [http://ndgbadminton.com/] is very accommodating to new people. we make sure you get games at your level. there is a constant rotation and the wait time between games is rarely over 5 minutes. the membership is cheap and it includes the use of feather birds.

the other club [http://www.clubatwater.ca/] is very expensive, but the court conditions are excellent.

    Not possible !!!

Thanx for the quick reply... Thing is i've been playing in Pincourt for about 3 months now. I make my reservation a week ahead and i get the court all to myself. No one bothers me....

Im sure there has to be some other places where you can just pay and play all you can.

Ill make some phone calls i guess....

Thank you again, if you find something let me know

    Greg

It's not in the West Island but I did hear that Centre Gadbois I think it's called has badminton courts and they're available for reservations.

You could try to find some more info on that.

I know a place in the South shore, its a school though, not too far away from autoroute 10/ Champlain bridge. Its Pierre Brousseau located on 8350, boul. Pelletier, you have to reserve a court before hand. You can reserve a court at: 450-923-6676
