Re: BG85 lifetime
Cheung,
How many sets of BG85 strings did you go through hat only lasted 3.5hours?
What racquet(s) do you have?
Is it strung with two pieces of string or one?
BTW. I did use to play in Yorkshire but moved to London around 11 years ago. I've been playing in the Middlesex and Hertfordshire leagues for a number of years now in Div 1 and 2. I play both Mixed and Mens doubles.

My normal practice is to have 4 racquets strung at the same tension and pick any one of the four at any one session i.e. racquet rotation in different sessions. That's so not to get into a trap of having a "main"/"favoured" racquet.
Another racquet would be unstrung and when I have two unstrung, I take them to the stringer. By the time the next string breaks (usually a week), those original two racquets will be ready.
Restring would be 2 piece which is pretty much the norm in HK.
At the moment, racquets that I'm using are cab20. I have 5 of them rotating around. There are a few cab22 around which I haven't used much recently because of playng less doubles.
Surprised that i haven't met you before either in Yorkshire or London. I was playing in Middx/Herts a fair amount 7/8 yrs ago.
I heard you came from Leeds. Is that right? Pity we didn't bump into each other then. I was there for over 6 years.

In addition
That little experiment where the Bg85 lasted 3.5 hours was under the following conditions.
My normal frequency of playing.
Cab 20
Tension 25lbs.
Using the same racquet throughout each session (i.e. not rotating).
To be honest, it's not exactly a proper scientific method.
Before making such a statement, I should have repeated the experiment over a period of time in order to get an average duration with the variability.
