shuttlecock speed
Hello Everybody

when the speed of shuttlecock is measured ?? right after hitting , above net ??
and what is a speed of bird right before receiving ? is it o half of hitting speed or maybe more ? anybody knows ?

The highest speed recorded is measured immediatley after contact on a smash, currently its over 330km/h. The speed over the net/or at point of recieving would depend on where and how the shuttle was struck from and too.
To measure if a shuttle is of the correct speed for the playing conditions you should stand on the baseline and strike the feather underarm as far as you can, the correct speed shuttle will land within 20cm of the opponents double service line.Last edited by morewood; 02-22-2007 at 09:06 AM.

up to 19cm beyond the far edge of the double service line, and no less than 23cm short of the near edge of the double service line

what is the shuttle speed that is use in the US, here in Peru we use 76-77
