Just move from Singapore to Chicago a few days ago. I've been playing badminton in Sinagpore for at least a year. Looking forward to join a badminton team here. Will appreciate for any good advices.

    Cheers,
    Vanny

Thank you ctjcad, how are you btw? :)

    Vanny, welcome to Chicago :)

I happened to be in similar situation like you, stayed in Singapore for a while, then came to Chicago, I played there as well, with some very good players.

These are the places that I know and I've been to.

Monday: Forest View (Arlington Heights) and Evanston HS (Evanston)

    Tuesday: McKinley Park (Chicago)

Wednesday, Forest View (Arlington Heights), Evanston HS (Evanston), and Maine HS (Park Ridge)

    Thursday: Downers Grove Park District

Friday: McKinley Park (Chicago), Barrington Tennis Club (Barrington)

    Saturday: Elk Grove Village Pavillion

Sunday: McKinley Park (Chicago), Downers Grove Park District, and Downers Grove HS

So, you can pick some, or you can also play every day if you'd like :)

    Visiting Chicago April 9-14

Howdy everyone. I'm visiting Chicago next week and wondering if there are any clubs in the vicinity of downtown -- I'm at the Best Western on 1100 S Michigan.

Some decent players play at Park Ridge on Wed night, Forest View Mon and Wed night, and McKinley Park on Tue night, Fri night, and Sunday morning. McKinley Park is on the south side of the city, Park Ridge is not far from the city, and Forest View is about half hour from the city.

What level of play are you looking for?

Thanks much! I'm looking for something fairly competitive, but I am on holidays after all. ;->

    I guess, on a scale from 1 (newbie) to 10 (ultra-competitive), something around a 7 or 8.

Thanks DoublesPlayer. Where is Park Ridge from downtown Chicago? I won't have a car, so I'd have to make sure I could get there relatively easily.

    DoublesPlayer,

whoops .. just re-read your original message about Park Ridge being a bit outside of the city. If I can get to it easily, I'll try to show up, but I did promise a friend to see one if his jazz greats on Wednesday night.

    Ian,

Park Ridge is outside the city, about 25 mins drive, it would be hard without a car. Let me know anyway about your plan.

I will be in Forest View on Mon and Wed night, and I can also go to Park Ridge on Wed night after Forest View. You'd need a car to get to both locations.

Park Ridge is closed. You need to register for Forest View. For others, you just show up.

I've been looking for somewhere to play in the northwest suburbs, and I see there's a bunch of places, but could somebody please tell me what times the open plays are? Thanks
