Visiting Chicago April 9-14 Howdy everyone. I'm visiting Chicago next week and wondering if there are any clubs in the vicinity of downtown -- I'm at the Best Western on 1100 S Michigan.
http://www.midwestbadminton.com/play.htm Some decent players play at Park Ridge on Wed night, Forest View Mon and Wed night, and McKinley Park on Tue night, Fri night, and Sunday morning. McKinley Park is on the south side of the city, Park Ridge is not far from the city, and Forest View is about half hour from the city. What level of play are you looking for?
Thanks much! I'm looking for something fairly competitive, but I am on holidays after all. ;-> I guess, on a scale from 1 (newbie) to 10 (ultra-competitive), something around a 7 or 8. Ian.
Thanks DoublesPlayer. Where is Park Ridge from downtown Chicago? I won't have a car, so I'd have to make sure I could get there relatively easily. Ian.
DoublesPlayer, whoops .. just re-read your original message about Park Ridge being a bit outside of the city. If I can get to it easily, I'll try to show up, but I did promise a friend to see one if his jazz greats on Wednesday night. Ian.
Ian, Park Ridge is outside the city, about 25 mins drive, it would be hard without a car. Let me know anyway about your plan. I will be in Forest View on Mon and Wed night, and I can also go to Park Ridge on Wed night after Forest View. You'd need a car to get to both locations.
Looking for some play. Moved to US from India about 3 years ago. Havent played in last 10 years, but wanna start again. Are any local Chicago or Arlington Heights area people still on the board? -Ravneet
