Do you have any picture of that product Neil? I don't know how functional it is but it doesn't seem to be useful to us. Coz every camera has its own strap. So, what do we need it for?
e.g. http://www.lowepro.com/Products/Accessories/Camera_Straps/Speedster.aspx I'm thinking more for when on a monopod than swapping bodies, but also there are some situations when I might want to position the camera in a certain place where a dangling strap would be awkward.
I heard the Optech Straps are very comfortable and functional too. The website can be found here: Click Me Agreed that every camera comes with a strap but most are not very comfortable. The Optech Straps has padding which helps relieve the weight off the neck and shoulder. Also, some particular Optech Straps has quick release buckles for which Neil is looking for. I'm eventually get buy the Pro Loop Strap model when I get a very heavy lens such as the Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS
I have used two kinds of Neoprene (i think) quick release straps. One as mentioned above is Optech and the other was Tamrac. The make decent ones too. Opetch also has very good straps for carrying your tripod/ monopod without a bag. Take a look at them. Relatively cheap. Best of luck with your search.
