among the internationl pro's you know, who uses the BG80????i know LD uses BG65, TH BG66....but who uses the bg80????tnx
they use bg 65 coz it is durable and wun snap.. they have enuf power so they dun nid to use high repulsion
well, according to this, jens and mia use bg-80. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37118 and you can never have enough power!
mostly european and korean player use bg-80, such as, Jens Ericksen, Mia, P. Gade, Martin Lundgaard, Ha tae Kwon, Lee Hyun il the other: Flandi Limpele (ina)
It's just simply a fantastic string. I've had a fair amount of use in it back in the day, and found the string to offer a great deal of repulsion even at higher tensions above 25lbs. Not to mention i noticed i had better control with the string, than I would have with bg65... i cant say whether or not this is due to the surface texture of the string. This is only my personal feeling though... Only problem i had later on, was that the string was not quite as durable, and i found i would need to restring more often. Regardless though... its a fantastic string, and I'm not surprised to see Yonex Japan still has this fantastic product in production... I hope they never tinker with the construction material of it, because it really is that great of a string. Mind you... i eventually switched to bg65 and stuck with it... i needed more durability over the greater quality of string the bg80 offered. As far as the pros go... i wonder if they have the same opinion, or if they just get a whole bunch of bg80 as part of their sponsorship? must be nice either way
i think it's maybe because: 1. in europe it's easy to get 2. better durability on this thin string than bg-66 in cold weather
well, its a trade-off between durability and playability as always. and this still applies even to sponsored players who get basically free string and labor. pro's can't afford to break string in the middle of a rally. they might get lucky and "fake" the opponents with a earth shattering smash only to have their strings pop and yeild no more than a crazy loopy smash. or the more likely result is a crazy loopy drop that lands 2 feet from their racquets. so they have to use something that lasts reasonably long with the maximum playability!
i doubt the difference in the strings matters at all to them. it's prolly a case of getting used to a particular string and tension, then stick with it. i'm still convinced that if they trained with wooden racquets with a tension of 12lbs, the only way us mere mortals would get a point off them is if they served it out. and only with the new 21 point system!
is this true? how about bg80 vs bg68? I had the bg80 before and it broke easy (1-2 months). Switch to bg68 now and lasted 3 months already. they both give better control than bg65 (.68mm vs .70mm) but I agree that bg80 give more repulsion than bg68...
BG68Ti feels good for the 1st 2 weeks or so. As soon as the tension drops, it feels dead, at least to me. BG80 seems maintain high standard of performance, even after the tension drops.
Sure they'll beat the recreational player with any string, but a higher quality string might mean the difference between winning or losing by a point or two against an evenly matched professional player.
I haven't used BG80 in about 2 months. Been using Ashaway Micro Power. Ironically, I have some BG80 coming in today so...
Some of you should appreciate the string lasting 1-2 months or weeks, poor Dink has to string his racket almost everyday, right Dink? Not too many string can survive the Panda Smash!
I'm curious how many seconds the RSL 0.65mm string will last... Probably 10 smashes.... .....Gone in 30 seconds!!!
