Hi, My club play mostly with Yonex AS-20. I am wondering how are the Victor Gold #1 compared to the Yonex AS-20. It's almost 15% cheaper here in Canada so I don't expect much. If you guys have tried it, how many rallies does it last ? Is it a good choice for a practice birdie for someone who wants to come back to feather shuttlecocks ? I have played with plastic birdies for three years now. Thanks !
I played with AS20/Victor Gold but not too impressed... Our club just switch from Aeroplane Blue to RSL No.1 and I found the RSL plays better and last longer. We have some heavy hitters so a match uses about 2-3 birds... If using SeaLion or Aeroplane Green/Black ($$), only needs 1 brid per match...
Our club use to use it. It is ok... Here is my experience with it. Flight path 8/10 Quality 11/10 ok ie. 1 out of 12 bird is dead Durability 5/10 ie. usually last 1/2 double game under hard smashing Since we can get Victor tournment #1 for just $1. We switch over to that.
I used Victor Gold for about a month and I wasn't impressed. The shuttlecock would only last for 1 game max when I used it. The only shuttlecock I would recommend from Victor is Champion #1 aka Green.
Well... I can have Victor gold for 16$ Canadian per tube taxes included. The AS-20 sells 22-25$ per tupe + taxes here.
i dont recommend Victor shuttles, I used them couple of times, not durable in terms of both the feathers and the head
victor tourney (blue) #1 is good too. I've tried tourney #3, and it's garbage...feather chipped off way too easy. btw, anyone tried garuda crystal? made by PT. Torasakti something from Indonesia (me aunty sent it to me as a gift, luckily she sent only 1 tube). DO NOT buy it. for $4 (Rp35000) a tube is one of the worst you can get...random feather thickness, bad gluing, random feather cut (random wideness), and the feather colour is not white, it's dirty white
