I just found out this website for starters who just started stringing. I don't know how helpful it is because I myself don't string racquet. http://www.stevecowley.com/stuff/badminton_restring.htm
very lengthy. i learnt stringing from watching a shopowner friend string my rackets. then, i bought my own machine and did it. later on, another fren told me that pre-weaving was better as the racket doesn't have to stay on the operating table for too long.
I only prestring the mains. I find weaving the crosses without tension on the mains too annoying and fiddly and time consuming. Maybe this has something to do with having drummers fingers and not a piano players!! lol
You have to make the mains taut to effectively weave the crosses. Fast, you can pre-weave a racket in 6-7 minutes.
I'll give it a go next time. Although I dont usually find a problem with feeding through shared grommets. Cheers
when you pre-weave, it is easier to feed through shared grommets. try it and you will find it a breeze instead of jamming the awl and cursing under your breath. like Dinkalot said, make sure the pre-weaved mains are taut before you weave in the crosses. it takes time to get used to it and best of all is that you can pre-weave the racket while watching tv and tension the racket during the commercials(takes about 10-15 mins).
Not just commercials or TV, I pre-weave my rackets when I'm waiting for a court. So you save a lot of time. Pulling the racket only takes 10-15 minutes. With this two step process, a well strung racket can be done in as little as 25 minutes at a moderate pace.
usually i prestring while watching tv. then i hang the rackets on the wall. during the weekends, if i got nothing to do, then i tension the strings.
