    Price money withhold

I think the Organizer should have the right to question the validity of any walk over in the future. If there's no injury involve then price money should be withheld to protect the integrity of the sports plus this is fair to those who spend money and time to attend this event.

It's hard to use "extra", because all the others are resting for weeks.

It was Chen Yu who walked over, in fact it also allowed Chen Yu himself some rest before all England.

did you mean Chen Yu's prize or both? Lin Dan should be given a full prize, but for Chen Yu, I think he should get only the semifinalist's prize instead of the runner-up's, since he didn't work and didn't want to work in the final day.

don't we miss the battle of INA vrs MAS in the oldies era of Gunalan, Hartono where unless you are half-dead or broken leg, WO is unheard of...such are politics in sport.

I must be your age during the epic battles between MAS and INA, growing up in MAS. Badminton is such a big thing when during the 1966 TC, classes in my school was shutdown so we can all jamb together to watch a black and white, miserable fuzzy TV to see MAS play INA. WO especially in finals is unheard of, my young one Virtualkidneys...:D :D :D

GO: What duh?! Why did Lin Dan win?

I just checked the results and LD won the GO by way of walkover. Anyone know why Chen Yu didn't play? Injured perhaps?

    yeah LYB=lee yong bo

Maybe he did order a walkover...maybe he didn't.
The only way to really know is to be a member of the Chinese badminton team I guess. Would've been disappointing for the spectators not to being able to watch Lin Dan and Chen Yu face off against each other.

Junior must respect the Senior. Moreover, everyone already know what will happen if there is clash between the older player against the younger player in China Squad, always give way to the older one, east tradition.

no man, lin dan gave chen yu the beating of his life time before he made it on the courts.
and last time i checked, chen yu is older than lin dan.

theres tons of time before AE, so theres no reason to not hold the match.

i'd take a gander than chen yu didn't feel up to the game. probalby didnt' feel 100% and decided that AE is more important and didn't want to risk injury.

besides, if there were special orders, they would have lin dan concede to chen yu, since lin dan has lots of room to move around with him at #1, while chen yu would benefit a lot more from point standings.

I think is not about the age, the seniority here i would say depends on the China Squad which players they want them to be at the ranking, just like Chen Hong and Bao ChunLai in the past Superseries, Chen Hong do not mind to concede a WO for Bao ChunLai to improve his ranking, although it was stated that he is unfit to present, anyway this is internal affair, and no right and wrong :)
