So..tomorrow is my big day!!! Volleyball tryouts!! I can't wait..althought I'm not the best at this sport I would like some tips for the tryouts. And also with foods that I should eat that are nutritious. Also foods that reduce cramps etc. If any BCers have any advice please tell away.

As far as I know the majority of footie players in the UK down pasta and chicken before matches. In an episode of the West Wing too when the Deputy Chief of Staff was about to meet the Vice President during jogging, he said something in the lines of "... some chicken and pasta, gotta pack in the carbs...".

So this week wasn't tryouts..this week is just practice and next week are the tryouts!!! I'm just wondering should I or can I wear my yonex shb99m to volleyball? In a way I think it's better then using normal running shoes. I just don't want to buy volleyball shoes. Thanks for the advices guys.

One thing badminton is great for, it gives you a killer overhand volleyball serve.
I couldn't do anything else, but dang could I serve. Unfortunately you're only allowed to underhand serve in grade 7, thus I didn't make the cut

Lol, volleyball is a pretty fun sport. Can't beat softball, but it's still enjoyable. Not trying out for my school team though because I still prefer to spend time playing badminton.. they train every weekday after school.. I have far better things to do then to train for a sport that I don't love that much.
Oh, plus the fact that my height at 5 feet doesn't help much. In badminton I don't feel it, but in volleyball I really have to jump.
azn_123, how did your try outs go?

Not fair...the tryouts were totally RIGGED.. Yes I tried out for middle position and I wasn't on the list..some other guy got on the team but he SUCKED..OK no offense but last year I didn't get in as it was rigged..it's more like a popularity contest than ACTUALLY doing good in that sport. It really pissed me off..ARGGG I just wanna spike the vball into there faces..cheap.
