I want to restring my Boron 858, What is the maximum tension it can take? I have searched everywhere, but I couldnt find it, its an OLD racquet, but I like it.
I don't recall it was stated what the maximum tension that it could take. When that racquet came out, people would not request very high tensions. It's quite a tough racquet, but if you really like, I wouldn't go above 22lbs. When the racquet breaks, you will not be able to find a replacement.
Ah.....858. I had one of the gold ones with the red lettering. Is it still your main racket? I remeber stringing some older 787 to around 24lbs. If your frame looks ok, then it should handle it. Good luck.
787 can definitely take 24lbs with Yonex strings. I did pull 787 to 24lbs using some sample Kevlar strings. Those didn't stretch as much as Yonex strings and consequently the frame of the 787 broke.
Dang! $5???!!! Man, the were soo expensive before. Sigh........Pro Kennex.....the Ford of badminton rackets.
I stringed BG-66 at 25*27lbs in my Boron 858 before, it was OK... But it's head is too heavy for me, so after string broke, I hang it up on my wall....
I got it strung with BG-65TI @ 23lbs is a great racquet? anyone have more info onn this racquet? like when it was made, weight? etc...
And the grip on it is ROCK HARD. should I replace it or put a overgrip on it? and is Yonex Muscle Grip a overgrip?
This is one Strong racquet, strung at 24lbs, killed an MP99 few years back, and than few days ago it killed another Nanospeed 8k... Does anyone have an extra one for sale, let me know
