I want to restring my Boron 858, What is the maximum tension it can take? I have searched everywhere, but I couldnt find it, its an OLD racquet, but I like it.

I don't recall it was stated what the maximum tension that it could take. When that racquet came out, people would not request very high tensions.

It's quite a tough racquet, but if you really like, I wouldn't go above 22lbs. When the racquet breaks, you will not be able to find a replacement.

Ah.....858. I had one of the gold ones with the red lettering. Is it still your main racket? I remeber stringing some older 787 to around 24lbs. If your frame looks ok, then it should handle it. Good luck.

787 can definitely take 24lbs with Yonex strings. I did pull 787 to 24lbs using some sample Kevlar strings. Those didn't stretch as much as Yonex strings and consequently the frame of the 787 broke.

I stringed BG-66 at 25*27lbs in my Boron 858 before, it was OK...

But it's head is too heavy for me, so after string broke, I hang it up on my wall....
