Hey, Just now I went to a shop I see rackets then I saw couple of RSL Millennium rackets which price are not so expensive. Anyone ever these series of rackets? They look nice and maybe I would wanna get one. I saw there are a few models there with different prices...about RM10 difference for each model.
I like RSL rackets. They're tough, play well, and are relatively inexpensive. The RSL 6 series are the racket models released in 2006. I have used the RSL 3200 Millenium Attack, and currently use the RSL 6800 Laser. They're both great!
There is already a long thread here.... need not start another one. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32158
So is the latest series better than the pervious one?? I think I saw is 6170, 6160 and some 61xx(forgot the number)...how are those??
RSL 6 Series Bought the RSL 6 Series 6170 and 6160. Both fantastic rackets and I'm now quite a big fan. I'm looking at the RSL 7 Series now. RSL CANADA can u tell me a bot about the difference between the NOVA series and the HEAT series. Unfortunately the global website rsl-1928.com is not up to date.
NOVA have technology of Poly-Matrix, which inforce the frame more. Shaft should be similar in general........except 6900 6800 have taper shaft. I didnot update my website too..... lazy..
I use RSL 660 string. which is similar to Yonex BG80 on these racquet. And recently company have new string called LT70. similar to BG65.
on the 6170 i use BG-66 at 22lbs as i use it more for defensive doubles play especially when im injured. i use BG80 at 24lbs on the 6160 and that feels about right especially for smashing. but im still experimenting on the strings as i've only used the racket for a couple of weeks.
yes max load is 28lbs if im not mistaken...let me know if u plan to get one. I am also planning to get the new ones so maybe can nego better price...
Must be good ... You are planning to get a new ones , the racket must really suit you . BTW which model are u planning to buy this time ? And hows the performance of the 6160 & 6170 in term of smashing, defence and clear shots. Thanks ...
as far as the 6170 &6160, theyare really fantastic for me.apart from performance, what i really like is the solid feel and durability of the racket and im happy with the fact that they're a UK company and not a dodgy "Made In China" company so I feel like I can really grow with the brand. So at the end of the day, durability is quite a factor and Im happy with RSL. So...next I would like to own the high end RSL rackets since Im very happy with the "intermediate" ones. The new RSL Millenium 7 series high end range is definitely a plus on looks as Im sure the performance is assured. In terms of performance, my baby right now is the 6170. Its very adequate on smashing and very accurate. Defence is fantastic, very light and agile and my net placings are getting more acurate to include while returning smashes. Clear shots is almost effortless and I have an injured arm too!
some racket can actually go higher but the manufacturer do not take responsibility for it.. some yonex racket can withstand higher tension than the one stated.. RSL Millennium rackets should be able to withstand 25lbs.. Higher tension, you take the risk.. depends on your luck and racket durability.. good luck..
