Always looking for new strings to try, but I'm quite picky about "feel" of the strings, such that I really like the "crispy" feeling. Those "power" strings I consider "crispy" are, Yonex BG85, BG66, and somewhat Ashaway MP Ti (regular MP not as crispy).

Those power strings that I don't really like are (cuz they're non-crispy) Yonex BG68ti, Ashaway PG66, ML XL.

Anyone know other power strings that is extra-crispy? how fried chicken should be! Durability is of no concern to me.

BG85 is a very 'crispy' string but its durability is even worse than BG66

bg85 is definitely very crispy and has a really good feel on impact. however, i do not agree with the durability of it. i find that bg85 has better durability than bg66 but not a whole lot more.

    I agree with your disagree!!

I too find BG66 less durable than BG85. Though I feel BG85 has a bit better control while BG66 has more power.

    Gosen Pro66 . . . I find them "crispier" than BG66.

BG80 might be what you're looking for. Definitely "crispy"

What's the thickness of your regular MP? I use MP 0.66mm and found it crispy.

Toalson Nano Premium 66 is crispy too imho.

well, from what I've tried, the BG80 is a bit crispy, but not crispy enough for me.... I'd put that a bit more towards the non-crispy power string category... though for sure more crispy than BG68Ti though!

I use the 0.66mm MP Ti from mybadmintonstore, though there's been suggestion that's really 0.70mm. Regular MP should be 0.70mm too.

Well, on my to try list now:

    Toalson Nano Premium 66
    Goosen Pro66

AOTBE thinner strings are more crispy than thick strings. Also higher tensions will always make the strings more crispy than low tensions. For the ultimate, use thin strings at very high tension (26lbs to 34lbs)

In general, thinner string = more crispy, that's true... but the likes of ashaway powergut 66, 0.66mm, and SOTX Ti65, 0.65mm, but don't feel at all crispy to me.

Also yeah, high tension = more crisp. That's partly I generally play at 26x29 to 27x30lbs even though my optimal tension for power is more like 24x26 to 25x27.

Strange, but I find PG66, ML, MP66 more crispy than BG85 or BG66. But I play with 28.5lbs/31lbs and my opinion is based on tensions no lower than 28lbs. PG66 and ML will play noticeably less powerful or crisp if tensioned at 23/25lbs vs their baseline tension of 26/28.5lbs. ML XL is of course less crispy because it is a very thick string.

Now the bad news-that crispness from thin and highly tensioned strings set a very high standard and any slight loss in that crispness is very discernable and always comes after a week. That is why tournamentlayers restring every week.
A tip : always store your racquets in a cool or at least air-conditioned place.

But they tend not to use BG66 or PG66.

Are BG80 and BG65 still the most used by tournament players?

Really?? PG66 crispy? Though i did only try PG66 (neon)on 2 occassions, however, one of those occassion, i freshly strung PG66 and MP ti, both at 26x29lbs both on AT800OF 3U, and compared sided by side. Based on that, it was hands down MP ti cuz of it's clearly more distinct crispy feel. Although I was testing with nylon birds... The PG66 do feel good with feathers (though every string seem more crisp with feather)...
