Recently, I bought a fake racket from eBay but the seller gave me a refund after reporting to paypal.

However, I did remove the plastic covering around the grip, and also the Sunrise sticker which was included on the racket. When I removed the plastic on the grip, bits of the grip came off too.

Will this possibly affect the status of my refund if I return my racket?

I think you are being too nice.

The fact is, the seller trying to rip you off with a low quality fake. You have every rights to get him in jail, if you want to, because his action is purely illegal to begin with. Don't worry about it too much. If he dares to give you any trouble, tell him to wait for lawyers letter from ebay/paypal/Yonex, etc.
