Check out the website. Open event features A/B/C and this year we'll have a separate draw for high school teams.

Now, you mentioned that 12 spots out of 36 are reserved for High school event, does that mean only 8 spots available for A/B/C each or is C supposed to be part of High school event??? thus make it 12 spots for each division?

12 spots just for the high school event, which leaves 24 spots for the A/B/C. Howevre if I only get say, nine high school teams, i can add those three teams to the ABC.

Bottom line is that I have 12 courts and to make the format run, I can only max out 3 teams per court.

I've never had more than 21 A/B/C teams so I'm not too worried.

I have sponsor that is kicking a nice chunk of $$$ given I run a seperate High School draw. As it stands, the winner in the High school event will get new racquets and shirts, the runner up will get new racquets and these cool shuttle keychains.

This sounds like fun. I'll have to try and convince my school "coach" (more of a supervisor since most of the players play club and don't bother coming to practice) to bring the team down there.

I am also curious about the date of the tournament.

Last year, it was held on a Friday night + Saturday morning... but apparently this year, it's going to be a Saturday night + Sunday morning, is that correct or may have been an error???:p

That would be an oops. I've changed the dates to the 20th/21st (friday night/saturday)

Good luck with the tourney Vining! I take it that you're organizing this tourney and not participating?

Hope your rest and recovery from injury is going well. Looking forward to the day i play and lose against a 100% healthy Wolff instead of losing to a Wolff playing on one good leg. =)

I organize, run and I intend to play again this year. I

Might limit myself to doubles on the most part during the tourney, but at least I'm mobile with 90% sensation in my foot/leg now.

Evylgrynn is itching to spank me now that he's been training like a madman. I smoked him pretty good the last time we played at this tourney.

So my goal is to pull one out of the hat and beat him. I expect the trash talk to be of the most excellent level.:D

New scoring. Seeing I am an BA executive, I tend to run with the BA rules.

The only ones using the old scoring will be the doubles matches in the high school event - primarly because the Alberta School Athletic Assoc hasn't gone to the new scoring and trying to teach the kids the new scoring would be a nightmare.

Being the drawmaster i can certainly arrange ameeting in the round robin. I'm hoping to hit a couple times a week to hit prior to tourney now. As long as the body holds up, we may have to have that rematch.

I'm not sure who my team will be yet. I may be on a B level team give or take who all enters.. If I were to play you, it would be in the round robin.

So far I have two C teams - the one from the Strathmore club and yourself. The Mr kennedy is a B/C.

Depends how badly you play. :D

How I set up the pools really depends on what level and how many teams show up.

My problem is that two years ago I had a team purposely lose games in their pool to drop down to lower bracket. (The tip off is that they beat a far superior team, then lost badly to my high school kids who never play feather. Hmm let me think about that.)

So that last couple of years I've tried to group the pools that teams are playing others at their same level. The games are closer and there is less chance of teams ending up in the wrong catagory. It also makes it a lot easier now that the high school kids have their own draw.
