    Very exciting day coming up.

Koo KK/Tan BH and Cai Yun/Fu HF continue their rivalry from last week.
So do Pi HY and Zhang Ning.

Chan CM/Hoon TH will discover where they stand in the pecking order when they take on Eriksen/Lungaard.

An all-Singaporean QF even. uhhh... Li YJ and Jiang YM doing well this tournament. Li Li, too. Her win over Zhu Lin totally unexpected.

For Indonesia, I think Simon has a better chance beating Chen Yu than Sony overcoming Lin Dan. Elsewhere, good chances to advance except Rian/Eng Hian who face an uphill battle against Koreans Lee JJ/Hwang JM.

    Predictions (winners first)

    Lin Dan v Sony
    Chen Yu v Simon
    Gade v Jonassen
    Chen Jin v Sato
Highest chance of upset is by Simon over Chen Yu.

    Zhang Ning v Pi HY
    Xu HW v Yao Jie
    Lu Lan v Li Li
    Jiang YJ v Hwang HY
Just don't think Zhang can lose twice in a row to a player other than Xie XF.
Fair chance of an upset by Hwang.

    Koo/Tan v Fu/Cai
    Tony/Candra v Hendra/Joko
    Lee JJ/Hwang JM v Rian/Eng
    Eriksen/Lundgaard v Chan/Hoon
Fu/Cai has even chance to overturn proceedings here.

    Zhao TT/Yang Wei v Akao/Matsuda
    Chien/Cheng v Jiang YM/Li YJ
    Greysia/Vita v Schenk/Grether
    Lee KW/Lee HJ v Duang-Anong/Kunchala
    Pretty straightforward.

    Li YJ/Hendri v Jiang YM/Hendra
    Greysia/Muhammad Rizal v Hwang YM/Han SH
    Nielsen/Eriksen v Kostiuczyk/Mateusiak
    Zhang YW/Xie ZB v Lee HJ/Lee YD
Sibling rivalry in all-Singaporean match. The more accomplished pair has higher chance.
Indonesians have good chance to enter final.
Big match between Chinese and Koreans.

well, we are getting to the business end of things now ...

i think sony must be riding high on his own over bao, not to mention stretching LD to almost breaking point in the AE, a possible upset here ...

simon vs CY will also be fascinating, again another upset is possible.

the other 2 matches look pretty straightforward with CJ and PG fighting for a place in the final.

    as for md, well ...

has fu haifeng recovered his composure from the AE finals? he looked pretty edgy there and must be wondering what he has to do to break the MAS pair .... i feel KKK/TBH will be slight favourites in this one.

hendra/joko had an amazing win over the koreans and meet up with compatriots TG/CW. the INA team have had a much better Swiss open than the AE, and all this without their big guns. will youth triumph over experience? probably not.

i can't see rian/eng hian getting past the koreans even though they beat CTF/LWW, though i would have said the same for joko/hendra, so hey, going to be interesting.

as for CCM/HTH, i applaude them for getting this far, but i think it's the end of the line here.

all in all, a beautiful day for badminton!

i hope ccm/hth can overcome the danes just like kkk/tbh did at the all england semi final. kkk/tbh vs cai and fu...maybe we'll see a tougher match...who knows...the chinese may have analysed the malaysian's game after the all england to look for any areas to exploit. go malaysia! :D

as for the mens singles, i am rooting for one of the danes...really hope that gade can bounce back strong after his shock defeat at the all england.

YES, Sony did beat Bao after all :). Think it might be a different story against Lin Dan though. I know he has a small chance of pulling it off going by his close match in AE :D. Not getting my hopes too high though.

CCM/HTH will doing quite well. So happy for them. Hope they can beat the danes. I really think Erikksen/Lunggard sucks.

Dun worry, KKK/TBH & FHF/CY will suck when they reach other side of the 35 too.. If they make it that far..

CCM-HTH can win this... KKK-TBh sure, if they can repeat their form...

I see Sony Dwi Kuncoro's back after a long absence... what happened to him between 2004 n now??? seems to be getting back to his best....

A lot of people think it is harder for KKK/TBH to beat CAI-FU in this one because they might have expanded too much in the AE 2007 win.

But I think CAI-FU played their hearts out trying to beat KKK/TBH and they may not throw in the same energy like they did against KKK/TBH in the AE 2007 Final. It is too tiring for them. So I expect another WIN FOR KKK/TBH.
