Some of those moves are just for show but many of them could probably easily trick the opponents and earn you a point. It's an amazing video. What kind of trick shots can you guys do? I can sometimes do a swing in a manner of a clear but miss then quickly bring my racquet down and drop the bird.

I think they have no real application in a match situation. Hoeever tks for the wonderful clips. They are great to watch and fun to do I guess.

In doubles, no such time for trickshot. The opponent will pounce on your shuttle anytime and kill it.

I've actually used a few of these tricks & others in doubles play. However, they tend to be less effective against high level players. They are a lot fun to learn & to execute. They can come in handy when your an old geezer like me and don't move around the court as well as I did when i was younger.

Some of these trick shots show up in every once in a while in very high level (world class) play in both singles & doubs -- particularly behind the back & between the legs variations. Here is one of the other tricks that Peter Gade used in competition (he won the point outright!):

Check out the young Danish lads in the Showboat vids (they've got at least 2; dont kno if they ever released their 3rd).

haha these stuff are risky, unless you can do it like brushing your teeth, its not wise to try and pull one off in tournaments, because of all the pressure and all you might mess up

Be sure to do a search for the Showboat clips as well. Some of these kids may be the badminton stars of the future.

Trick shot are fun. I do them when I'm warming up but in actual games the only one that I actually use are behind the back and inbetween the leg. But it's only when I have no other way of returning the bird.

But it's always amazing to see someone execute it in a game.
