His devoted fans must be excited.

That's the first, and it won't be the last, hopefully.

Default The way i see it..

..everything fell perfectly on Simon's lap. Simon's first SS couldn't come at a better time and against an unlikely opponent. Add to that, he didn't have to face Gade nor his teammate, Sony DK, on the way to his first SS.
Good luck, Simon, in your subsequent tourneys & hopefully you'll have something to build on your 1st SS title.

agreed with you.....he is in the right place, right time during DO
    and not during FO...
sometimes this players tend to strike once in their lifetime..like Boonsak
winning SO few years back....unfortunately we never heard anything great from him anymore after that...

Wow, it was pretty good that his final opponent was not SDK or PG as he will have a tougher time facing them (Although he might still win, like how he beat SDK in the Japan Open) Marc Zwielber shocks me though...

i suspect its his mental state thats are unstable and in a bad mood after the umpiree let chen jin's fault net kill (definetely a fault, look at the replay if you dont believe) to be a point. also there is an evident lack of stamina in the 3rd set. overall, at 1st and 2nd, Simon really brave to play some tight spinning net shot and crosscourt backhandside smash

sorry i dont think so, the record was 2:1, the only game he won was in 2006, and in the past two years, Chen leads.

simon was leading towards the end of 2nd set and he rush a lot of shots...

if he had been patience like he did during the 1st game and early part of 2nd game... I think he would have won...

IMO, Simon is not typically a champ player, although his skill is very good but he has mentally problem
