My friend thought of a cooler way to play badminton, GLOW IN THE DARK. Like glow in the dark net, string, tape (to make the court), and birdie! I don't know if anyone wants to try it, but it sounds like fun. But it has to be singles only cuz you'll hit the person next to you.
a couple of times where I play the lights went out. trying to play in near darkness is almost impossible. depth perception and timing is thrown so far off. i think that a glow in the dark birdie would be cool
Well all you really need is a black light. With a black light, pretty much everything white colored will start to give off a glow. So you have a white net (at least the tape should be), white strings (hopefully), and white bird.
i thought when white clothes etc glowed it was down to the brightners etc that they put in washing powders ? Would anything white glow without additives ?
i agree, wanted to set up the glow in the dark thing at my club... I think tht would be great. Although i think without string it would be best as you'd neve rknow where your opponent was, making it that much trickier!
Cool, but less fun. Reaction time would be delayed, and you'll have no idea when the opponent hits or if deception was involved. IMO, it's more fun to see the players face, body and reaction. We have great time laughing when playing badminton, something you'll miss with glow-in-the-dark...
that sounds really funny... and how could you not laugh? i would wet my self lol just keep playing drives and then you would have no idea where your oppenent would make contact (but one problem is that glow in the dark require very bright light to start glowing) and i heard some one say you wouldnt see where your opponent was hitting it... if there a good player your not sapost to see where they hit it any way
glow in the dark i have done it at my club. you need a black light, a white shuttle, and some special yellow strips that you can put on the top of your racket so you can see it properly
