The ankle is sprained, the orthopaedic doc says you're lucky not to have totally ripped the ligament off, prescribes 6 weeks rest and the Xray looks like some bone has come off.:crying:

    Just feeling depressed:crying: :crying:

    ouch, sounds bad.
well, better away from the game for a while, i know it's easier said than done, but if you come back too quickly, you might do yourself permanent damage and then you'll regret it forever ...
so just let it heal properly and get another hobby in the mean time!

injuries always suck big time, and i know how it feels.
for now, just remember to avoid cold drinks and peanuts i think.....and like dreamzz said, you MUST resist the temptation of playing before u have recovered.
    Take care

Wish you a full and speedy recovery! Hopefully, you will not develop major bone spurs in the ankle joint. Did you have a MRI scan?

At least you can still move on court. Cheung is a limping baddie player :D :(. The two of you should meet up. You do the running & dinking and Cheung does the bird feeding :p :D.

Sorry to hear that Cheung. If you don't already have a good pair of ankle braces. I suggest you invest in buying an ASO ankle brace when you've recovered enough to play. It's quite costly but definitely worth it. It's extremely supportive and the most comfortable brace you can get. I'm sure after this experience you'll really not want to ever sprain it again.

This may be a good time to do some good old training. I don't know how bad your ankle is, but if you can limp on the court, then maybe you can use a bicycle. Build up some strong stamina. Working out those upper body muscles will help you a lot too. Especially the core.

I've got 2 words for you...

    Wheelchair Ping-Pong

    :D:D:D
    no?
    hmm... ok ok.

seriously though... I know when i got injured back in the day, i was pretty horrified, and well despite encouragement from the community; i had quit, and taken a big long break from the sport.

Now's your chance to work on those herculean arms you've always wanted :D :D :D jk jk

I wish you the speediest recovery old friend.

Too bad about your injury. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

You still can practice your net play or feed other fellow players if you miss the badminton court too much... well, that's what the coach did to me when I sprained my ankle badly.
