ok, i am beginner/intermediate. i had a yonex iso 75-lent it to my bro one day and he broke it... so i am lookin to get a new racquet. im doing a bunch of badminton camps and stuff this summer so i kinda wana geta good racquet. i was thinking a nanospeed 6000? i was thinking about a 9000-but my friend whos realllly good said it was wayyy too stiff for me, so he recomended like a 6000 or someting i just wana c what you guys think of the 6000 ect...
First of all, why are you going for a high end racket? I think that there are other and better rackets for your level of play. I think some low end muscle power (21 23 25control 26 29) or armortec (150 250 300) are good enough. (for yonex rackets) The racket you choose won't make your play very better if you improve your physical skills and technique first then you can choose a very good racket to fit with your style of game. I got a muscle power 21 and a carbonex 25 SP and i dont think i need a more expensive one ;P Personnally, when I tried my friend's Armortec 800, I found it harder to play than with my muscle power 21 the characteristics are different, and it requires a better physic building. Choose a racket for what you are. Don't become what you are from what you have.
Fixed, and agreed. Sorry to hear of your breakage. Now's your chance to try out non yy brands. (I'm digressing from the main topic here, and i apologize) I for one am certainly thankful we have a whole plethora of choices from different manufacturers, and larger sports companies getting into the fray eg. Wilson, Mizuno, Prince (they've been here a while now, and all really should up their sponorships as well, and expand once they get a more diverse product line, take the risks they did with helping to popularize tennis, golf and other sports), and many others etc etc... (i deleted a bunch of irrelevant text lol) Back on topic... i'd say if you dont have a Carbonex, you must have at least 1 fall back in your arsenal of weaponry to fall to... Though I'm biased, so dont listen to me. Try a different brand, if you feel your choices are too limited with yy, and you just might find yourself surprised. Best of luck in your search!
Since u're beginner to intermediate,u may wanna get a less stiff rackets.It helps ur game.If u want yy,then get MP66 or something like that.Or u can choose kason Carbon series,or troy 1193 series.They're flex,but still delivers enough power to smash n clear.Best choice for beginner to intermediate..
yeah, a N9000 is a really expensive racquet to break you know. a beginner in my club did it, now he's got a Wilson N1, that's just stupid. i got like 2 US$50 racquet from some random brand in taiwan (O'Lax, fairly obscure) and i reckon they better than Yonex. they are mighty tough and reliable. don't spend too much on racquets, shoes are more important if you got money to splash, but you do realise N9000s are 4 pros and stuff? if it were based on level of play, we'd all be on Muscle Power 21s or something. racquet don't mean nothin if you got bad fitness, footwork and stroke production
Hey really sorry for the racket breaking.. im new to this community... well for a beginner i think the yonex b750 tempered shaft is good enuf..but then it again depends on the style of play.. i used to use it wen i had started playin.. now i use a yy carbonex shaft...for regular play..its light...ill post-in the exact model tommorow.. i generally use head shaped SOTX for match play...it gives me tremendous impetus on defence...i think one of the best non yy rackets that i have played with will be SOTX.. I was suggested by one of my chinese teammates in shenzhen and he suggested it because of deceptive style of play with less power...helped my backhand a great deal..kept it at 22 tension..keep it at that wen u buy it new...later on u can upgrade to a 24 tension and use it with leather grip as it gives u more control on the racket head.... I think wilson and prince as some people had mentioned earlier are also damn gud brands...thnk out of the YY purple haze...
yeah i agree unless u wanna stick with yonex...but i have a kason energy chain 105 and it's a very good racket, mind u i don't use it any more cuz i find it almost too flexible at times...but still overall it's good...
my only advise for u is not all racket thats are expensive is going to work or it will your palying better! the important thing is pick a racket that very comfortabele for you!!!!
Have a look at the SOTX WOVEN 5A it's very well priced ($83.99)and you can string it up to 31lbs. A top end Yonex will do nothing to develop your game right now. All that will happen is you will find your mistakes are amplified as it is so unforgiving. If you do choose a Yonex look at the Amortec 150, the shaft is medium stiff and that will help you at this stage.
hi, beginner/intermediate... try out the apacs racquet. similiar technology, frame and feel to yonex. good thing.... much cheaper to own. as many said here, skills and stamina going better, then you consider back to yonex.
