    hi everyone!

i'm looking to invest in a pair of good badminton shoes (for once)

what model of shoe would be a good crossover of performance, durability, and price? i know this is a vague question, so i want personal opinions! FLYING ALL OVER THE PLACE!

i am 130lbs, fairly strong legged, but learning footwork techniques.

Go for yonex or ashaway. For portable courts I'd say victor for sure, but for this you should find a nice shoe in whatever price range in those brands.

Yonex SHB99m is awesome...or you could go with victor as westwood had said.

Middle to high end Yonex shoes. I didn't get any twisted ankle for the past 2 years wearing the Yonex 89 shoes. I can't say the same thing for the Mizuno shoes that I bought one month ago. I find that the Mizuno shoes have lesser lateral support than the Yonex shoes. On the other hand, the Mizuno shoes are less slippery than the Yonex shoes. Both of them are good shoes, yet if I am going to play single, I will wear the Yonex shoes.

Anyone knows where to buy a replacement Yonex sole? Mine has a hole in it with the size of a quarter.

Are you referring to Mizuno Volleyball shoes or Mizuno Badminton Shoes? If you are referring to their badminton shoes, I would have to disagree because they are at least at par with yonex badminton shoes in terms of performance and support and are definately more durable. I can agree about your comment if you are referring to their volleyball line of shoes

Are you referring to the Insole of your yonex shoe or the physical sole?
    replacement insoles -> Super Feet.
soles -> take it to a shoe repair store?? or buy new shoes?

I have the Mizuno badminton shoes: Mizuno wave smash RG.

It is my "insole." Yeah, I knew I missed something (it was almost three in the morning.)

    Hi-qua

    I recently switched to the Hi-Qua 350

    http://www.hiquasports.com/badminton/shoes-350b.htm

It's a cross between the Yonex shows and the old Nike Phylon - very good shoes especially if you have wide feet or orthotics liek myself.

Reasonably priced too. I used to like the Asics, but the new models are pretty narrow. Addids had a decent court shoes, but it is also made for palyers with narrow feet.

availability here in canada is pretty much limited to yonex. ironic.

i've limited my choices to the SHB 99, 98, or 89. any opinions?
