i wonder how did the double pros return the shuttle at front and mid court so fast using their backhand. i dont see noticeable big swing rather just kind of a quick whip. how do we do that?? do we use the same grip as regular backhand grip? any tips? can we do that with head heavy racket?
the power is mainly generated from the wrist and fingers, especially the thumb. run a search and you'll find plenty of info in this
Take a look at these 2 vids from the Badminton.TV site. While they are not specifically focusing on fast BH drives, these vids should still provide some insight. www.badminton.tv/content/item/backhand-block/13.html www.badminton.tv/content/item/racket-control/14.html
I think it's done with a straight thumb along the handle, then just a short tap, requires no backswing and followthrough. Good for killing shuttles near the net also. You need to be able to switch grips quickly though.
