    Default To Peetah

    Hey peter...
i read through most of this post and understand everyyyything i'm a similar player to you...i love to smash....especially jump smash. power is my strong point.
so what i like is head heavy racquets, it really helps with dishing out power. mp55 is a head heavy racquet and would suit your style of play. but if ur willing to pay a little more than 130, u could get a cab23(which is what i personally use)...this racquet is stiffer than the mp55, and is a cab head-which i like. cabs feel a lot more solid and give very positive feed back.
the string tension i'm at is 23x25lbs using bg70. if you consider yourself a hard hitter, u might wanna go a bit higher than the previously recommended 21lbs. to me, thats a bit too soft.

    thanks shaun!

yeah, i'm still progressing slowly... i dunno if i can adjust to a massive jump to advanced racquets... i mean my racquet right now is quite the beginners and will i find it hard to adjust to something really head heavy? and strings i'm at like 16 lbs right now (i think), so if i jump to 25 lbs, would i be able to handle it? or should i slowly progress into higher tension racquets, so start with 21/22 for now? do you find your strings break a lot more at this higher tension? cools, jumpsmashers rock! :P

Thanks for everyone's input ~ I finally went out and got a MP55 here in Vancouver from Abbies Sports. Best deal in town! Plus they have 10% off everything now! So I got the MP55 + BG65 @ 21 lbs. with labour + Yonex overgrip + taxes = $135! woohoo I didn't have to pay for shipping from dealing with a distant retailer. If you live in Vancouver you should go check them out at 4895 Main Street (at 33rd). And no they didn't pay me to say this (but I wish they would ).

I'm just very anxious to try it out tonight and seeing how I'd adjust to a head heavy racquet. Wish me luck!

    Default MP55 review

First time experience with the racquet (i know i'm in the wrong forum, but didn't want to start a new thread)

The racquet is slightly shorter than my old one (about 10mm-15mm)
Didn't quite hit the sweet spot until after a few games.
My backhand would sometimes miss entirely and hit the frame of the racquet.
The strings @ 21 lbs. didn't seem strong enough, I should have went higher I think to get more power (?) seemed like i almost needed to swing just as hard (initially) to produce as much power and to clear from end to end.
The racquet is definitely stiff compared to the very flexible racquet I had before, this was a decent change.
Control was excellent, had to get accustomed to the head heavy designed, but didn't really notice it that much.
Looks awesome though, good paint job and the baby blue overgrip looked neat-O! haha
But I'm still getting blisters (but not as bad) :P
After about an hour of straight playing, I finally got my smash and power shots working and produced the 'sound' from the racquet that was quite inspiring.

Overall, quite pleased with this racquet!

Black Knights are okay, but I would never let my daugher play with one. She tried several Black Knights as well as Victors, and she hated them. We bought some Forza Morten Frost Specials and she loves those racquets. My wife is using a Forza 1200, similar to the 900 model. She really likes it. We string all the Forzas at 24lbs.

As for me, I am still waiting for all my ProAces to finally die off before I start looking for the Ti10.
