10 and 10 is such a ripoff. They quoted me 230 for an At700. Go classic sports instead.

Depends on the service and who you are buying it from. I personally would rather pay an extra 20-30 to buy from a store I trust/like then save the money and buy from someplace else.

Classic Sports has very good customer / stringing services + their prices are very reasonable compared to others.

I think 'rip-off' is too strong a word to use here. Some shops quote a price and expect their customers to bargain. 10&10 does that, and so are the shops in Queensway Shopping Centres. If I would not want to bargain or do not like the "final" offer price, I would just walk off. It is the shop who lose out not me.

What we have in the market in Singapore is the ceiling price, which is the RRP (recommended retail price) as is found in Sportslink, World of Sports etc.
That is the bench mark we use knowing we can get lower than that from the non-official retailers. But then no one can dictate how much lower we can get. It's up to the shop as seller to offer and we as the buyer to accept.

But If you compare 10/10 with those shop at Queensway, what 10/10 offered is still reasonable and acceptable services. However, the current shop keeper like to boot-licking. Oooops

So? What's your point? If you don't like the price, don't buy at all. The shop isn't forcing you to buy. You have a choice not to buy or get the AT700.

What's the point of this thread? This is simple market theory that even children can understand.
