Today I watched the friendly between Germany and England. I was wondering why Nathan Robertsson and Gail Emms weren't there.

Didn't they play in national team anymore?

My guess is they are busy playing in the Danish badminton league.

Well I know that Nathan Robertson has just had surgery on an injury to his elbow so isn't fit at the moment, but it seems for some reason that the England team that just lost to Germany is completely different to the one that beat them about a month ago.

Not only did Gail and Nathan not play, but neither did Donna Kellogg, Anthony Clark or Robert Blair, all of which would usually be first choice. I know that Tracey Hallam played and that she has recently returned from an injury, but other than this it was mainly younger, inexperienced players. Certainly Nathan Rice got his first England cap in this game.

I think maybe they took this friendly game as an opportunity to give the younger players a chance.

I think that the players like Nathan and Gail are all in physical training at the moment and so they aren't playing tournaments

also it's an exhibitional friendly for England and a chance to give other stars a run out.

Julien Robertson was very pleased with the performances of many of those that played
