Device to get higher tension?
I guess some of guys might have 2 pieces of leather (usually) held in place by the strings at the holes nearest the shaft? I was told that this method of stringing gives better tension. Any comments?

Re: Device to get higher tension?
That's the old method of stringing and I don't think it's necessary nowadays.
All the shops I've been to don't use this method as well.

Re: Device to get higher tension?
It is NOT used as a tension augmentation device. The reason it was there was bacause of the external t-joint on rackets of old. It was mean as 'slider' so that strings do not rub against the t-joints and thus allow them to last longer.
Please don't get all mixed-up about such things.

Yeah, I have that too. But can anyone explain to me why I also have an extra piece of leather at the 12 o'clock position?....

Re: Device to get higher tension?
Older racquets were susceptible to breakage, due to higher string tensions around the t-joints. Actually I still know people who do this, and I plan on doing this with my newer equipment.
It is not there to give you higher tension. Mainly to increase the durability of both T area, and the main strings, to dampen the shock.
Which is what the muscle power frame, and MP grommets were designed for (other than adding extra weight to the top of the frame)
