at what age did your badminton idols start playing badminton??

    pls. list their age when they started playing the sport,

    for example: TOny Gunawan started playing when he was still 5 yrs old./, how about Lin dan?Taufik Hidayat?Peter Gade? and others you know...?? thnkxs:)

    Mia Audina started playing at the age of 4. She won Jakarta Closed Championship under 10s at 6 and won the under 12s at the age of 9.

    Bao Chunlai started playing when he wa 4 years old.. Btw, Mia Audina is just simply great.. She got into PBSI(pelatnas) only when she was 14 yrs old, and she was picked by the PBSI, not going through the SELEKNAS.. :D

    And don't forget that she won Olympic silver at 16!

    When she was 9 she beat me in 3 sets and I was 19 and I was a State player in Australia for the Under 21s. Mia is pure talent! Too bad she put on a lot of weight.

    I remember some chinese commentator said he started when he was 4 during the Thomas Cup match between him and Lin Dan.
    Lin Dan started when he was 5

    yes, han jian started at 17. but trust me, this guy had a very good footwork and shuttle control. he controls his shot well and move smoothly on court. han jian is good. really good.

    most players started young because they took badminton as recreational sport. but Han Jian took badminton seriously as a professional sport. it was never too late for him to start at 17. so, for youngsters out there, pick a racket and start playing.

    Off topic-Speaking of youngsters...

    ..i know this hasn't happened yet, but if it comes to fruition, keep an eye & don't forget the name Brandon Han..I believe he started swinging his dad's rackets when he was less than 1 yrs old..;) :D :cool:
