HI all, just wan to find out which racket can tie lets say 30 lbs and above WITHOUT breaking or cracking. Wanna try 1. Thanks for all your helpful inputs
The most prominent candidate would be a Karakal SL70, as they make a big point of its head loop being able to take 31lb. Having said that, Yonex tend to set their recommended tensions on the low side, but some pros go WAY over 30lb with them (Jens Eriksson reportedly uses 35lb on his) and they still hold up. AT900's, AT700's and Nanospeed 9000's tend to be their choices.
I've heard from badmiintonshoponline that you can string the AT 900s up to 32 lb., though of course, the warranty becomes void, if you choose to do so. But otherwise, I'm sure it would still apply for you on recommended tensions, since they're SP coded rackets.
i have AT700 but i asked a shop to do tension 28 and it broke, feel damm angry. I dare not try another At700 at 30 lbs. i have AT800Off too, i dun really dare to try on expensive rackets

Scottelfy, which shop did u go? and ur AT700 is it racket break or string? cause i feel like string my nanospeed 9k at 28lbs.
28 LBS is nothing. I dare say that stringer is inexperienced. Bring it to Classic Sports at SAFRA Toa Payoh, Mr Soh can easily string at that tension without breaking. But... most probably he may examine your racket before proceeding, for previous 'injuries'... Thanks.
eh. hmm. toa payoh which side? cause i live in west area. i dunno that place well. hmm! he string good?
Classic Sports Trading SAFRA Toa Payoh 293 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh SAFRA Building Singapore 319387 (It's within walking distance from Toa Payoh MRT) Tel no: 62538858, look for Mr Soh.
cool. thx modious. looks like he seems to be famous among central area.(den i will be heading on weekend.) 1 more qns, the price is reasonable?
Those guys from Queensway always like to complain to Sunrise that he undercharge the customers... One thing for sure, don't go Queensway, those guys are just inexperienced. In a shop located at the second floor, he broke one of the customer's racket when stringing, but... only offerred to pay for the string. Damn!! Mr Soh will even check the gommets... Thanks.
OMG! wad a "good" shop owner. -_-.but for me, i go queensway to shop for their clothing will do ba.! think i will go to mr soh there ba. and. hkchua, help me answer my qns. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42478 thx!
ya i think the stringer is inexperienced. there was only a slight chip off paint coming off and he says thats the reason. He used machine stringing and my racket broke! it was less than 3 months old. think i will bring my racket to safra and let him restring. can go 33lbs for amortec800O?
I don't see any need to go 33LBS. Basically, most stringers string the rackets by pulling the string only from one side of the racket, so that they can speed up the process. Simply ask the stringer to pull the string from both sides, and I assure you that 26 LBS X 26LBS will be tight enough to surprise you. You can try moving the strings, the string will only move by one of two cells. Simply tell Mr Soh that you want it tight, and also instruct him to pull from both sides, he will know what you mean. But... please don't quote me, because he will have to spend 10 minutes more on each racket. Thanks.
Most stringers will simply hold the racket in one direction, pull the string with the machine, hold the string, pull the subsequent string. Some will pull, hold, rotate the racket, pull from the other side, hold... and rotate back.... Thanks.
I mean where does your stringer start tensioning the main strings? From the middle? Or from one side as you described some stringers in Singapore?
With the racket standing on the handle, the vertical strings first... from the middle, if I don't recall wrongly... Thanks.
