Help ppl seem to break strings so often yet i have never broken a single racquet or string yet. I've been playing for 3yrs now. I use BG-66 mainly strung at 25pounds. Yet i havnt broken a single one.
there can be only 2 explanations: 1. you don't play often enough 2. you don't hit hard enough. pick one, or pick both.
LOL! This has saved you quite a considerable sum of money already, be happy man! If you play more, play long enough, smash harder, slice more, I'm sure it will break sometimes sooner than later.
my reason is i dont hit enough. i seldom use smash to kill a ball. rather i used drop shots. so very soft touch. and yeah, i saved a lot of money by not breaking my strings too often. in fact, i have never broke a string yet. i did cut one up and restring to experiment on string tension.
Im a heavy Smasher. Even with my at700 i cant seem to break any. i play around 10hours a wk but with my MP-99.
10 hours a week. bg66 @ 25lbs. heavy smasher. no strings breaking for 3 years? sounds dodgy to me! it should be breaking every 3 weeks.
another reason for lack of string breakage is that you always hit the sweet spot! From what i see at clubs, 80-90% of string breakages are due to miss hit near top (sometimes bottom) of string bed.
I usually don't break my string either. I just cut them when the outer jacket is wear off. That is usually 2~3 month.
What are you nuts?? Why would you want to break strings like "everybody else"??? Some of us use less expensive, yet more durable strings; just to avoid breakages every few days. QFT (quoted for truth) ROFL! Master Panda. What a great way to rub it in Vag, just enjoy the game, dont worry about what other people are doing or not doing. Work on your own skills, to improve them. You'll get more enjoyment from the game as you improve the quality of badminton you play.
Break string less often is actually a good thing, as you save $$$, and put racket in less risk. The un-even tension can greatly endanger your racket, especially with a less than acceptable setup or less experienced stringer. However, as time goes, the playability of your string will decrease, due to tension loss, and string bed feeling. Therefore, it's a matter of choice wether you want to re-string it to boost up playability, or save $$$.
do you play with plastics or feathers. feathers tend to be heavier on the string bed. After a year I think your strings wont be still 25lbs. Have you tried playing with small rocks!!!!!
25lbs on a BG66 string job? Even the pros break 'em on a regular basis. If you think it's something to brag about, it's not. If you genuinely think it's something to worry about, it's not. Either your stringer isn't being honest with you or you're not playing hard enough.
