New to Badminton
Hi, I just started picking up this game after my recent visit to HK. Currently looking for some newbie friendly places to start playing. I am not sure how the facilities usually run and not sure if anyone can just pick up a game? It would be great to find people at the beginner level to play with. What would be some good places to play around near Oakland?

Don't know if Brett Harte Jr High is currently open. I had heard that they were closed earlier this year. For location, check this thread:

Have you check out the gyms in the East bay -- APAC & UBC? Pleasanton might also still have some badminton. Might try a Search in this forum, there may be some high schools or other places in/near Oakland with open gyms?
Check out the community colleges near you to see if they offer classes.
