Will Using Feather Birdies Screw Me Up for School?
Well, as you all probally know, here in Canada, high school badminton uses plastic birdies
. In the summer, I'm joining a two month badminton camp that uses feather birdies. So my question is, would playing with feather birdies for the two summer months mess up my game when I have to go back to using plastics?

I woudln't say it would mess up your game. Once I also only used feathers for about a month and a half, then went back to using plastics. It only took me a game or so to get used to the shuttle, so I wouldn't say it would mess your game up.
Hope you have fun at the summer camp!

I switch regualry btw. plastic and feather in a week depending on who I play with. I've found with plastics it's hard to tumble net shots but easier to smash, feather is the opposite, but adjustment is within a game or two.
You may prefer feather, though, after you master net techniques.

We briefly switched to feathers in preparation for a big local tournament and I LOVED them, as they're brilliant to defend against and sound like cannons when clouted properly. Going back to plastic was initially difficult, but the transition was ironed out within a week or two.
I'd say the biggest problem is the fact that you'll miss feathers so much

I switch back and forth regularly, so adjusting isn't too much of a problem. A couple of rallies will usually do it for me. The biggest problem for me is the amount of touch I need to adjust when doing netshots. When switching from plastics to feather, I will hit it wayyy too short. From feather to plastic, I'll hit it too far.

what he said. plastic feels a lot lighter than feather. you can get away with a lot of things using plastic, but not with feather. Ie you have to hit it properly.
