ok.. i own a CAB-8600Ti, strung with a BG-68Ti. what tension, i do not know, all i did is ask my mom to get the racquet and string, and string it, all at jusco (there's where she works), she has no idea what tension it was... anyway, to the point i saw the yonex way of stringing (from the picts), and found out that the way my racquet was strung was different than what was shown i still could use it.. not a bad racquet but after finding out it's strung wrongly, i got an uncomfortable feelin.. 1) So should I restring it? 2) What do I tell the stringer? What if he dosen't know the difference? 3) Do I have to buy another string? Or I can use the same string to restring? i'm just a 14 year old fella, beginner, who favours badminton more den any other sports and i plan on stringin at 20 tension... try to stop me... i might be stupid... seriously.
some stringers have thier own way of stringing things. ie. skipping cross at the bottom. probably better to take pic and post it so people who are skilled in stringing can look at it and determine.
i dunno which jusco you're talking about but generally the stringers in big departmental stores don't really know what they're doing, i would never get my racquets strung there. i'd say play with it and if you still feel uncomfortable, get it restrung at a proper badminton store.
aw man.. just when my camera is out of battery.. it's the jusco at cheras selatan, balakong... i think i'll restring it ASAP...
i found the shop where i wanted to restring my racquet... ok about restringing, do i have to buy a brand new string? cuz i juzz bought this racquet a few days ago... i hope i don't have to buy a new one, it'd cost me MYR 32... (BG-68Ti) or USD 9.34...
i doubt there are 2nd hand strings available. you can always go for a cheaper string such as bg65 or bg66, those should be around RM20-24.
What's wrong with the string pattern? If just missing the 2nd to the last cross, or 1 more cross added, it's somehow acceptable, as long as the stringer did a decent job. However, if the pattern is obviously wrong, then, you definitely need to re-string through another reputable stringer. Btw, you do need a new pack of string. Taking the current string out requires a lot of time and effort, and it will damage the racket and string itself.
ok, decided not to string it.. it's actually still usable, just that it's not strung the yonex way... plus i have to buy a new string... nah.. not worth it... it'll damage the racquet too?!?! den... i'll use this racquet until it's spoiled, and then i'll buy a new one... not from jusco... haha..
1. How wrong is that? Please provide a pic or word description. 2. If the string pattern is totally wrong, then, the shop should give you the new string and provide a free re-work. If you don't trust them any more, you should ask for a refund. 3. If the string job is totally messed up, don't play with it, as it will damage your racket.
I've recently got my racket restrings. And after i got it back, i competed with my friends and after 1 hour and string snapped causing my racket to disform.. broke my racket.. I took two of my friend's rackets and noticed the stringing technique is very different from the other two. While the two racket i borrowed from two of my friends has very much similarity, but mine is just completely different.
racquetX5000, seriously, you are wasting your energy worrying about something insignificant. yeah yeah sure, it is not the Yonex pattern, but as you said, it can be played. i guarantee you that if you go out and have your racket re-strung, you will get it back, played with it and see absolutely no difference at all. then you will start kicking yourself for wasting money to have it re-done. as a beginner, you seem to worry too much about your equipment. you should be going out to the court and enjoy playing badminton and improving your game. that's where you should spend your energy on.
Unless the 3 rackets are identical, otherwise, it's very possible the 3 rackets suppose to have different patterns to begin with. (i.e. share gromments vs. single string per gromment). Please provide detail information, if possible. Simply say apple is different than orange not going to help, as apple supposes to be different than orange.
