    Default does anyone have a diet plan

    i'm regular player but noticed that the thing that is bringing me down is my footwork :P and that i'm very very unfit. this is due to the fact that i am a bit fat but oh well. i'm trying to improve my fitness and general health. has anyone got like a diet plan that they used specifically for badminton?

    If you want to lose weight, eat anything but eat less calories than you burn everyday and drink a lot of water. Weight training is a plus. It's that simple !

    Depends on your age... but generally:
    1) Avoid eating when you are not hungry (eat only when you are hungry)
    2) Eat only food that is healthy - vegetables, fuits, white meat
    3) Watch the quantity of the food you are consuming
    4) If you eat rice, try to avoid it or at least reduce the amount (also any starch-based food like noddles, pasta, etc)
    5) Don't eat after 7PM
    6) Avoid any sugarly drink (soda, etc)
    7) Don't skip a meal, especially breakfast.

    I think most importantly is that you have the "will power" and determintation to reduce weight. So, you should have a realistic goal, say one or two lbs/kg per month/week, etc... don't try to lose too quickly since it is hazardous to your helath too.

    Some other folks might have other ideas... Good luck.

    I tend to eat six smaller meals during the day and make all attempts to replace any juice with water and cut down on my bread intake, especially after my late night work outs.

    The above are good suggestions. I follow most of them and have been very successful. The most important tip I can offer is to have allergy testing done before adding or removing any foods. In my case I found that I had developed severe reations to foods that I had been eating my entire life. Also Food Science has made quantum leaps recently. Read literature after 2001 for the most recent research.

    First thing to do is to simply pay closer attention to what you eat. Keep a log keeping track of portion sizes, types of food, calories, macronutrients, etc. and note this information down whenever you eat something.

    Doing this for a couple of weeks will make you aware of where any excess consumption is occuring. Now, if you don't have the motivation to do something as simple as this, then simple doing a special diet won't help you too much.

    i found that only eating one bowl of rice per meal instead of 2 or 3. and drinking enormous amounts of water. made me lose a healthy amount of weight.

    its all mental. instead of going into the refrigerator or pantry to get a snack. eat a fruit. and ur all set.
