Hi, I read alot of the post on where to play in vancouver yet I also heard it very pack and busy so I'm interested in going to a place I know where I can play for sure and get alot of good playing time, any suggestions, this is also my first time playing in vancouver?. Also if anyone interested in joining me and my friends during the may long week 17th-21st to play some badminton, that would be great also is there any tournment near that time, I wouldn't mind joining it too. Leave me a pm or something so we can chat and hook up. Great forum awesome people in here.
Um, never had an assement, on my badminton skills. Enter my first yonex open last year got rank 30 something in Alberta. Haven't play singles again since then so dunno what i'm rank now. Got to finals in B divsions doubles last year and semi-final in edmonton tournment last year. I would say above average?....?? Why Ellen? are you interested to play if so that would be awesome!!!
Yes, I wanted to play and wanted to find a partner. I used to play badminton in SFU with my friends. Haven't played for a while due to my busy final. Maybe we can play sometime? this weekend i will move out, next week friday evening or next saturday would be better for me. Allen said he runs a program to play at a badminto center around commercial drive sky train. I never been there. would you like to go there ?
What is SFU? sorry new to this forum, as for playing badminton I will only be in vancouver for the long weekend so if you have time we can hook up at some center and do some fast pace doubles game and get a good workout. Goes for everyone else too that's interested in playing someone out of town or my level.
Simon Fraser University. The gym isn't as good though, when you compare it with the newer facilities out in Richmond. If you drive here from Calgary, there's drop-in sessions at RichmondPro, ClearOne and ClearTwo as well as YUMO badminton center. Do avoid Bonsor though, cuz it's crowded and not too competitive. Britannia and Collingwood (Sundays) are the more interesting drop-ins.
I probably will go there next Friday night(May 5) and saturday afternoon. It is the Britanna Community center. I will take a bus from Commercial Drive. SFU gyms has been occupied weekends due to tournament and renovation . that's why I have to find a place to play. if you have time Next Friday night, perhaps we can go togehter. Ellen
I know Richmond has a good playing place. but it is too far away for me when I take a bus, so find a place close to me.
Isn't there a drop-in session at Pinetree? Lots of courts there. There's also Monday night Cameron CC near Lougheed Mall, but it's probably not open over the holidays. Kinda sucks to live in Coquitlam or further out.
I sure will try, can I just drop in at VRC or do I need someone to sign me in, cause someone mention about that?
hi, Goblissyou, Are you going to play on May 5(Fridany night?) at 6:30pm or 7:00 pm? Allen said that he can give me a ride at commercial drive station. if you want to come , we can take Allen's car to there Let me Know. Ellen
Sorry bud, I won't be in vancouver for that week ..but i'll be in vancouver over long may weekend, if you wanna hook up and play some baddie that would be great.
