What is your usual tension? Try that first. Otherwise, try 33/36lbs. :p

pete has a carbonex 8k strung at 32x35.2lbs?!?!

btw...if u string 21lbs or less FORGET THE BG80... you won't feel much difference between bg80 and bg65 and a tension 21 or less. next thing is if you're using plastic shuttle go with bg65. i know a lot of high schoolers nowadays stringing bg80 because they hear itz good. but what they don't know is that at 21 lbs or less... it doesn't matter much because the string doesn't stretch enuff to get the potential of the string. when you are able to go 24 lbs or 25 lbs, then you will really start to feel the difference in strings.

at 22lbs is the max that carbonex 8k can handle. push harder, if you wanna change new racquet by breaking this carbo 8k.

I agree 100% about the BG80 and lower tensions like 21 lbs. BG68Ti is a better option at those tensions.

no that wouldn't break. what is recommended isn't actually what the racket can hold. The higher end rackets can easily take 25 lbs. some people string it at 30. they run a higher risk of breaking the racket especially during a clash. however, the frame can withstand that tension. Yonex recommended tension is pretty much only for their own protection. if you break your string at a tension higher than the recommended, it pretty much voids the warranty. if you send it back to yonex and they find that itz not a manufacture defect, then u won't be getting a new racket back =P with that said, most mid to high end rackets can easily take 25lbs and above.

armortec should be able to take 25 lbs without breaking. if you string it 28, it probably won't break either, however, if you ever clash the racket, ur risk of breaking is a lot bigger than if you string it at 25lbs.

Don't listen to these idiots that tell you to string it at 30+ lbs.

The racket gets stressed every time it is strung at that tension. So every time you collide with someone you will possibly kiss your racket goodbye.

22lbs sounds quite good for a light racket , try increasing by 10% at most if you want to experiment with different tensions.

no one told him or even recommended to him to string at 30+ lbs (just pointing that out). i believe we (at least i was) were just showing him that rackets can be strung at a higher tension which also runs a higher risk of breaking when colliding (most of those advanced players above who strings at 30+ lbs, if u noticed their other posts, has no problem (monetary wise) to get a brand new racket(s)):D
