    News from <a href="http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2000/11/28/sports/2837astl&sec=sports" target=top_>The Star</a>:

Players will be required to have their lastname/surname printed at the back of their shirts, and optionally initial of their firstname. the name will be 10cm in height.

also, for team events, all players from the same country must wear similar team color.

this takes effect Jan 1st, 2001.

    I like that!

also, kudos to Yonex, whom i believe supplied the new team shirts for the recent tournaments. they look so much smarter than before.

Yup!! I think they are starting to move towards the newest age in fashion and better clothing materials.

We will be able to tell who the players are when we watch a tape of a match. On some tapes, when the camera shows the entire court the only I can tell Qin Yiyuan from Tang Hetian is to remember Tang is left-handed.

I like the idea of the name on the shirt. I would love having my name printed across my back.

    Like Martina Hingis's one-long, one-short sleeve shirt?
