Hopefully ashaway release a thinner gauge version
24lbs.? No wonder, you need to string at a tighter tension.

The X1709 is designed for higher tension, heavy smashers. Try it at 32lbs.

Yes, nothing less than 32 lbs X 35.2 lbs will work .

There is no official packaging. It's a prototype string. Here's the unofficial package:

I found smashing was rubbish at 24lbs til it loosened slightly. 32lbs. I don't think I could handle that.

They're just having a laugh, but at 1.5-2lbs above your usual tension helps a lot, if you ask me...
    I liked it a lot at 27-28lbs...

Dinky, any news on a release date? and if there will be any pretty colours?

september....boy that's just too far away

Now I'm curious what they're going to do with the colours... It's not like ashaway to just release it in white
I'm hoping for red, or purple (though especially red)

Now everybody knows about it.... so they should hurry up

I'm not so thrilled because "wow it's zyex, I have to get it"... But I really liked my last set, which was X-1709 I guess...
So sad I never got to test how it holds tension (darn misshit)

    EDIT:
here it is, juts a little brighter than this

    (the zyex squash string)
    (thank you Sportak.nl)

Yes maybe. Its also still good at the net. With all other strings I've tried (MP, NBG98,95, BG65ti) They lose tension after 3 sessions, and when you do a net shot its really hard to control because its so bouncy. You can feel the strings deform more.

But with this x-1709 string the tension is still holding after a 5 sessions with no sign of tension loss. The string bed feels alot harder when I do net shots, so its much easier to control.

Yep, that's the idea. However, all those strings you tried are softer. If you want the ultimate stiff string, go with BG80 or when Ashaway releases a 0.69mm version (0.66 in Yonex measurements) of the X1709.

How come that everyone says bg80 is soft and so do lots of websites? But on the packet it says they are hard.
