as the title states, my friend is a complete beginner to badminton and he wants to get a decent/good racket. he said at most he can get one that costs as much as $100-$120CAD, which is $89-$107USD converted. this is assuming he will NOT buy online, and will NOT buy used or new from any place online like the BC FS forum. so most likely he will have to buy brand new from a retail store locally in the GTA, Canada (like Sportchek, or some badminton store like Yo's) i thought about it, and i guess if he had that kinda money to spend then i suggested to him the MP30. its a great racket to start off with, and you can still use it well even for someone who has a lot of skill. btw a random question on the side: has anyone ever deliberately bought a fake just for the heck of it, to see how it feels? i might just do that one day EDIT: NVM! i just read an old thread about fake rackets breaking at the shaft and flying to the ppl on the other side, killing them. i will just have to assume using a fake feels like S#!@T, and is the most flimsy thing in the world. ok then i recommend the yonex muscle power 77 but remember to get an aftermarket paint protector, double grip, and if your friend has explosive power from arm biseps restringing the racquet at 28lbs
no i'm not cuz the paint chips off easily, there's no grip with stock grip and you need double grip to be able to get you're power and control to the racquet to smash and clear plus the original strings are crap cuz you can't smash with them, get yonex bg-65 ti, it gives you a metallic feel and sound when you hit because it's titanium coated
hm my appologies for thinking you were being sarcastic then. so where can you get a MP77 for about $120 in Canada? cuz i have no idea where.
seriously, i never though sportchek would carry mp77...at least i've never seen it before although they are starting to carry the higher end yonex racquets such as the new at500 and ns6000.
WHy not try a muscle power 23 Power or Isometric 75 light? both under that cost and very good begginer rackets =]
Does it need to be a Yonex? For $120CAD you can get better quality non-Yonex racquets. IMHO, the best value racquet in Canada is still the Carlton Powerblade Superlight that Canadian Tire sells for $50 (that's if you can still find them in stock). I bought 5 of them in the last year, 4 of which I passed on to newbie friends. They are now all intermediates and they still continue to use the racquets. It's almost summer, so CanTire might be reordering a new batch of them for this season.
Yaa, But the problem if that racquet is that I lend it to my little cousin and he return it in two pieces For beginner just any racquet under $70. As everyone was a beginner one day, I do have many racquet clashes, mis hit etc. Sportcheck YY Carbonex 8600?? $54.99.

sounds good, only i dont know a thing about victor rackets. cant find the official site, and theres no reviews on victor rackets on BC. i'll try searching some more. any link to a review? or maybe someone else can comment on the racket. balance? ease of use for a beginner? also, what is the Yonex equivalent of this racket? so i can get an idea.
