    XD :

Widianto/Natsir vs Gao/Zheng - INA will raise white flag
Zhang/Zhao vs Limpele/Marissa - But their compatriots will avenge that loss
Hwang/Han vs Prapakamol/Thungthongkam - THA pair will weather this storm
Robertson/Emms vs Xie/Zhang - ENG World Champs on the road to recovery

    WS:

XX vs Rasmussen - Walk in the park for LD's girl
Xu vs Cheng - German quality better than TPE
Wang Chen vs Hirose - Eriko says sayonara
Pi Hongyan vs ZN - CHN woman not in compromising mood

    MS:

LD vs Ponsana - What do you expect? LD of course.
Kendrick vs Ronald - Youth vs Experience, of course Experience wins
Kenneth vs Gade - Asian style better than European
Chen Yu vs WCH - Chen Yu with the edge, but WCH will not give in that easily (go go WCH!!!)

    WD:

    Wei/Zhang vs Polii/Marissa - ex-World Junior Champs win after a tough battle
Lee/Lee vs Jiang/Li - Sorry S'pore, this is where the cookie crumbles
Zhao/Yang vs Du/Yu - CHN scratch pair will win
Gao/Zhang vs Chien/Cheng - Smiling assassin and CTF's girl will reconquer TPE for CHN

    MD:

Cai/Fu vs Jung/Lee - CHN always on top of KOR
Tony/Candra vs Hwang/Han - New MD favourites will not disappoint the crowd
Zakry/Fairuz vs Kido/Setiawan - Slight edge for INA due to experience, but promising MAS pair can match their speed and firepower.
Choong/Lee vs Gunawan/Riyadi - Veteran MAS pair to win, giving CTF another day to spend with ZJW :D

This is the 1st Olympic qualifier and China has 12 quarter final slots out of possible 40 (that's 30%!). Such dominent. I guess they might be surprised about their presence of 3 teams in the XD, whilst their MS and WS are performing under expectation. Interesting too they have only 1 MD left - which has been China weak spot.

INA is next best with 5.5 slots (Tony is playing as USA player). I believe they have a good chance in the MD but of course everyone is dissapointed about TH lost to PG.

MAL is probably most dissapointed they have only 3 spots left and other than LWW/CTF in the MD, WCH and the other MD pair might risk crashing out today.

SIN is the one that surprised everyone with both MS performing above expectation (for would imagine Kendrick to beat CJ?!!) Unfortunately one of them have to be eliminated tonight. The WD pair may have to pull out exceptional performance to challenge the Korean pair, but then again no team now is able to penetrate the stronghold of China in WD.

Similarly for DEN MS - the always reliance and steady PG and KJ are always there and thereabout, but like the SIN MS, they have to face each other tonight.

THA and TWN players gave a good performance and earned 2 spots each in the QFs. But looking at their opponents, I think this as as far as they can go.

The only Japnese left is likely to lose to the only Hong Kong player left in the WS. Xu Huaiwen representing Germany is the likely non-Asian national (ironical, isn't it?) in the WS semi-final tomorrow.

Agree. That was a tough match. Sato played superbly; WCH played more superbly. It was a fast paced scintillating treat. Ok if he does not run out of gas cos CY has not sweated so far.I'm gonna help WCH refuel by cheering him on....are you?

Wong Choon Han is motivated by a desire to do well before he retires. He disappointed in the last couple of tournaments and he promised that he would come good sooner or later. I just hope this is what he was alluding to and becomes a bit of a 'run' for him from here.

He has the skills to beat CY but of course, like you say, how much gas is in the tank ? I hope he is taking the ginseng his doctor ordered.:D

MS -- only 2 CHN MS remain in this round, quite surprise. Will be tense matches between PG vs KJ and WCH against CY. Seems Ronald will continue his big ambition here.

WS -- on paper 2 CHN plus 2 ex-CHN will secure SF spot

MD -- after series of failure, chance for INA pair to beat the Malaysian despite full of pressure

WD -- another CHN power parade, slim chance to Gres/Vita

XD -- waiting for Nova/Lilyana to make a breakthrough when face the incredible ZB/GL also Flandy/Vita to overcome the other CHN pair
