So today I popped my strings on a smash, broke around the very top of the frame, middle. it was the strings going up and down, mains i believe. It was BG-80 at 24 lbs. I'm looking for a new string, not that I don't like BG-80, but I'm just looking for something new to try. could you guys recommend me something with good repulsion for a hard hitter, but also really good durability, cost is not a factor as I'd rather have a long lasting string than rather getting string jobs often. btw, don't recommend me BG-65, I tried a friends racket with it and I don't like it

How about Ashaway Micropower (.70mm) or Micropower XL (.73mm)? It should be a little more durable than the .68mm BG-80 and should play just as good. Also comes in orange to match the Woven-8.

I would like to try, but no stores here in toronto carry those and I don't have a stringing machine nor know how so I'm pretty sure Yonex strings are the only ones I can use

ya, Winning Badminton has NBG-95 for 28 bucks, but I'm willing to pay the extra two bucks (BG-80= 26 bucks) if the durability is there.

Man, those prices are seriously overpriced. I can get a BG-80 string job here for around $20, and around $17 only if I bring my own BG-80.

Personally I think Yo's has a better stringer than Winning. Im using NBG-95 myself and it doesnt seem to be dieing yet, had them for about a month

Seems the breakage is due to mis-hit, and I doubt any string can survive is the stroke is hard enough. If you need to stay with Yonex, Nanogy95 is the one you might want to take a shot at.

What's the difference between BG-80, BG-85, and NBG-95? I've narrowed it down to these three

They are all great strings, which fit for different ppl's needs. However, if durability is you major concern (and you are a hard hitter and/or using high tension), then, N95 might be the one to go, as it's 0.69mm. BG80 is 0.68 and BG85 is only 0.67mm.

Have you considered trying other brands such as Ashaway or Gosen?
Ashaway MicroPower XL is a very durable string at 0.73mm and the feel and power is same if not better than BG-80 or BG-85. The string can go up to 30lbs easily.
Gosen R4X200 and 300 seems to be pretty good too.
Dink (Panda) should have posted some reviews already. Do a search.

You can get any string from online stores cheaper than at your local shop.

You can buy the string online and give it to your regular stringer to put on your racket. Your stringer will charge you for labor only.
