I am not a particular fan of Carlton, but I have recently aquired the relatively new generation of racket, the Powerblade Lite, and found it to be pretty playable. I think there are at least two more generations after this Lite racket, namely the SuperLite and the latest 2007/08 Fireblade series.

I have been using YY rackets exclusively for over 15 years. This is the first time that I have used a non-Yonex racket. I am pretty impressed with the feel of the Powerblade Lite. In fact, as I play doubles more often, I fear that I may one day break an expensive YY racket, so I pay something like GBP25 to get this Carlton (brand new).

Anyhow, this is a very good racket for doubles, since it is definitely an headlight racket. I have just strung it with BG-65 Ti (24lb) last week, let me see if it makes it more powerful than the stock string.

I think it is quite tempting for me to get another Carlton if the price is reasonable in the future. Maybe the new Fireblade series?

    Hi Guys,

I find it difficult to find Carlton rackets in Mongkok, Hong Kong. Maybe I am looking at wrong shops. Can any of you direct me to the right sports shop that sells original Carlton rackets at reasonable price? Thanks in advance.

I only know that the shop in Aberdeen has the whole collection of the latest Carlton rackets. Prices are always reasonable for Carltons in Hong Kong. I think in the UK, shops are making too much money out of these 'non-YY' rackets.

We are same fren. I m also like to have a new Ti10 one day. Before that I use MP77. But now use AS 29 and Powerflo 807 Wide. Just fall in love with carlton. Both are excellent. Feel really light to hold for easy moving and swing. Power when smashing. I think it s good for double player. The most important is the price is more cheap than YY with good quality. Hope that Carlton will come back to become a leader of racket producer again one day.

there is a wealth of information about carlton racquets despite the lack of commercial efforts on part by carlton, for both new and old models and lineups!

its just a simple search away! you'll find lots of threads about them.

When I was young, I used to own a Carlton 3.7x (I still have that now but it is cracked) and loved it when playing double (I used Cabonex 7 for single).

The last old era Carlton racket I bought was a Baron Classic in 1988. Whilst the newest model I bought was the Powerblade Elite in 2006.

It used to be neck-to-neck with Yonex in the days of 70s and 80s. But somehow it's popularity has died down since. In fact, right now you can hardly find any Carlton rackets in Singapore at all. It's marketing and promotional plan in this part of the world, which arguable the hottest spot for badminton equipment is indeed highly inadequate.
