Father-to-be Taufik may miss world meet By RIZAL ABDULLAH the star online JOHOR BARU: Father-to-be Taufik Hidayat will skip the World Badminton Championships in Kuala Lumpur from Aug 13-19 and stay with his wife Ami if she does not deliver their first child by the time the tournament gets underway. “The due date is Aug 9 but the doctor has told me that it could be a week or two earlier or later. That has put my participation (in the world championships) hanging in the balance,” said Taufik at the Singapore Open, which ended on Sunday. “To me, badminton takes a back seat now. My family come first and I will skip the championships if my wife does not deliver by then. I will certainly compete if my wife delivers before the championships begin.” Taufik won his third Asian title in Johor Baru three weeks ago. After losing in the second round in Singapore, Taufik turns his attention to his home Open.
You bet'cha.. ..bottom dollar ..and yes, i'm sure i'm not the only one who is looking fw to him playing.. ...but of course, if he can't make it, then that is no problem..
and of course, if taufik can't make it, it is not a problem for chong wei too.. may the best man wins..
Awww... oh well I guess Taufik is making his slow exit out of badminton. It's a pity that a badminton player such as Taufik with such great mastery over his racquet to appear less and less now.
Why not go through a Cesarean Section (or C-Section) procedure? That way he could time it and still play at the tournament? just my tought.
oh my goodness. we have no right to discuss what should be done in order for taufik to be able to play WC. if he plays, good for him and us too. if he does not get to play, he is putting priority to his family which is admirable. whatever happens should be for the best. i just thought it is crude to be discussing on how he can play in WC with no regard of what his wife is going through. this is after all their first child and the first child has always been a difficult one.
of course, family comes first for badminton players. taufik sure wants to see his new born baby. he can't play well in WC if this matter keep bothering his mind.
OMG this is so true! Especially if Taufik joins KLRC. Then he & wife can live in MAS and have their baby here
If TH don't play in this WC, anyone winning the MS title will get bashed by TH's diehard fans... the usual talk of because TH is not playing that's why so-and-so won. If only TH played, he would have won it... bla, bla, bla... In other words, I hope his wife delivers a week before the tournament starts, and TH gets to play.
is not true now ....... most of my friend at the big city as like Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung or even Medan prefer Caesarian .......... coz the can keep their *ahem-ahem* similar before has a baby ........
