---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- racket model: Yonex MP 100 3UG5 shaft serial: 5693324 cone code : 120756TW source : A friend bought this for me when he went travelling to Asia ---->8---- cut here (include this line) ---->8---- I have posted this a while ago in post my serial number but people said they were not confident enough to comment on just the serial code and asked to provide pictures so that we can better determine if it's fake or not. I posted those pics on the same thread already but I dunno if I should have since it's a thread to post serial numbers only. So I decided to make my own thread here and I hope to attract more experienced ppl to help me. I really hope it's genuine.. I went to SportsExperts but there were no MP100 to compare Please Advise!
well...the font on the shaft serial is kind of wrong looking. also, the grommets do look kind of weird too.
If you compare to new AT900, the font is different because the new AT900 has different font. The grommet on the top is same as the regular MP grommet you found on Cab20MS.
The racket totally fake MP100 MP series - one of the special criteria is muscle power frame , with rounded archways grommet holes for non string stress load and no fatigue through contact friction. This construction creates total unity of the frame and string because of they are in much closer and tighter contact. The results is stabillity and let we smash more aggresive magnitude and string tension remain in longer time Your MP100 frame photo does'nt show it muscle power frame at all...
These are the best pictures i can take. Too close it gets blurred and dark. Then my MP100 is fake? I'll try to confirm with my stringer too I have checked my racket at sportsexpert as accurately as possible. My grommets look very similar to that of the MP99 except that MP99 has 2 long grommet strips near the T-Joint and mine doesn't. Even the wrapping seems very much identical to the genuines at sportsexpert and my serial seems finely laser engraved too but the serials CD versions serial seem whiter than mine though.. other than that it might be just me who still can't see the difference appropriately. My friend said it was in Taiwan this racquet was bought in a retail shop she can't remember the name but local people there brought her to this shop to buy my racquet. It costed me around CDN$150.
one of the picture show the rounded archway but the other doesn't show it so i would say it is fake unless you get a angle picture from the top to show us. Can you also take a picutre where the Titanium Mesh is on the frame.
It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it does look like it has the "rounded archways grommet holes" Hardogei - can you please take some photos of the racket with the room light on instead of using the flash from your camera, also try shooting in Macro mode to enhance details.
Sorry, but the paint job looks poor from here(the one with top grommets).Another clue to find out,How about the TI sign?Does it look like it's painted, sticker,or looks like a carbon fibre inside of it?Is it stiff?
The font on the AT900 is identical just like all the other Yonex models. The MP100 is obviously a counterfeit.
We dunno whether it's real or not yet,but if it's fake..wowww..u've paid $150CND for that.Way too fooled. So,let's hope it's not.
I tried to look closely at the pictures. Contrary to several posts, I believe this racquet is 100% genuine. The serial's font is practically identical to my MP88s. Seems blurred a bit but the picture showing frame from the top is convincing enough to show that rounded MP grommets are used. The wrapping around the grip seems finely done just like the genuine. But indeed, the only way to confirm is to have the racquet in front of me. Those who say it's an obvious counterfeit should give concrete reasons to why it's fake. I think it would be more appropriate for a genuine mp100 owner to verify the racket
heeh, I don't need to see the racquet in front of me to tell you it's 100% fake XD how do I know? because I bought one exactly like it before... what gives it away right away is the yonex green cap... the J on the Japan is irregular, and next that would give it away is the Muscle Power writing on the frame is thinner than the real one... please use my old thread for a Fake MP-100 for reference, and pics of my real one... I'll try to align it up with your angle shots and if you have any other questions, please drop me a PM. I agree. With my limited knowledge, I can't see why this racket is fake, or at least, not easily to tell whether it's a fake or not. With the provided pictures, it's very hard for me to identiy whether it's fake or not. Even if that's a fake, I have to say that's might be the 1 of the best made fakes I've seen. The easist way to compare this racket head-to-head with a proven genuine MP100.
It's counterfeit. If one knows what features a genuine one looks like, the counterfeit can be easily determined within a blink of an eye.
