I was checking on various stores that carry Ashaway strings. The specs of Ashaway from Mybadmintonstore seem different from the others, for example Micro Power according to Dink's list is 0.70mm whereas theirs is called A-68ti (Micro Power) which is only 0.66mm, and they have different packing lebels too. Just wondering are Ashaway all from the same source ? why there is such differences. Thanks.
Ashaway strings have lots of variations. Sometimes the same model has different thickness. For example, ML has regular size (0.69) and XL (0.73).
Ashaway strings are much more durable than Yonex of the same guage in general. MicroLegend 0.69 and MicroPower 0.70 lasts much longer than BG65 for me, in terms of playability and durability.
The thickness of ML (0.69) and XL (0.73) are always the same regardless where u buy them from. But in the Asia and America market. The thickness of the MP, PG is different of the same model. In Asia market MP & PG are supplied in (0.66). Whereas in Canada and America you can get MP & PG in (0.70) and (0.73). Correct me if I am wrong.
In TW, everything from Ashaway is the same as in the USA. For example, PG 66 is 0.66 and 65 is 0.70 at both places From mybadmintonstore, I don't consider the a68ti as the same string as MP as the diameter change from 0.70 to 0.66, which is a significant change in strings. Also, MP does not feature Ti in it from ashawayusa's page, and I don't see those two the same.
yes... i also find it weird for the a68-ti to be the micropower... first of all, why would they put the 'ti' there if it were only a MP?...
Yes, there used to be a ti version from Ashaway, which originated from the regional Ashaway distributor in Singapore. It has now been discontinued and what you are getting is from old stock.
