If the price of feather is too much and everybody else wants to play plastic consider more feather-like plastics. I don't know about Nova Scotia, but in Ontario, Mavis 350 in the GREEN speed are the EXACT same speed as a feather bird. I hate the feel of that damn bird but I admit it's as close as you get to a feather and it's durability is even better.

    feather > plastic.

plastic teaches poor form (for beginners) while players are greatly rewarded when hitting feather shuttles properly

i do prefer feather over plastic anyday, but there are times when we do have to play with plastic and well yeah i can complain about it but i dont mind it as much. I was skimming through and some people said its harder to get behind it...well then get better footwork i dont find any probems when im trying to get behind a shot played when im playing with nylon and as for always smashing and just killing shots when its plastic not true at all. I play alot of slices, cleares, drops and net shots as well as for getting the same control as feather though it doesnt come really close you can get some control but yeah its all about how good your technique is thats that.

The one thing i dont like though is when i play feather then play nylon right after the same shots i played with feather would be right in the court for a clear or serve but with plastic its out of the court so that takes a lil getting use to again but yeah nothing terribly big.

Overall id still choose feather over nylon anyday though but i dont have a burning hatetred for nylon just a few things i dislike about it.

I prefer feathers over plastics, the sound of the feathers are nothing compared to plastics. Feel and flight are excellent on feathers. The only reason why I stay away from buying feathers is the money. Most likely I'll buy feathers no matter what if I get a job so I can pay for my own things.

There are many reasons to hate plastic but my main reason is...

...there are not enough rackets to last an entire match.

I used to! I would keep all my gear in my 2424-9 and bring a 2424-6 for extra drinks and shuttles. ..........

actually I'm better with feathers, but I still prefer plastic since it's still cheaper. But yeah, I'm one of those people you mentioned who hurt their shoulder on plastic >_<" oh wells... key is to play with whatever you have!

-_-". i play 95% plastic, because my coach and my badminton team is too cheap to buy anything but the 'A' level group feathers, and even those are sucky AS-20's. hence, i really dont know how a feather shuttle feels except from the occasional tournament. Im used to all the tricky netplay with a plastic and all the 'less loud' smashes.

I also play plastic most of the time. The school matches are all plastic. However during the summer when I play at the club, they provide feathers so during the school year, all plastics, and summer and the odd tournament here and there I'll use feathers. I would rather play with feathers anyday.

hmm i play with feathers at lessons/ practice. but with plastic for ym friends cause i'm always the one bringing the birds and feather is too expensive. lol! but yeah feather has a way better feel to it. i used to hate feather when i first started because it takes more energy for clears. but now i love feathers cause when i clear ro smash the sound is so much louder

I don't hate plastics....they are much more affordable for a high school student....in fact i love them. Not to mention they also help lower the amount of birds being hurt

Maybe not for the making of those plastics but good because your not killing the birds.

    Default kinda depends

Wel i play socially at 3 different places a week, so i dnt hav a choice. the plastics they use at the first place(no name brand) are pathetic, fly too far, too fast, have no control and worst of all no feel to them, they actually ruin my confidence, the one and only reason i still go there is because it's badminton. But on the other hand i really quite like the yonex ones they use at the 2nd place, they have a nice feel to them and play generally pretty well. hav to say though i always look foward to playing at the 3rd place cuz nothing beats a new feather shuttle, but a high quality plastic can still suffice imho.
