IMHO it is useless to get the most experienced coach to Indonesia
it is not the lack of coach nor talented player that brings Indonesia's badminton down
there are plenty of that locally
but it is the lack of self discipline and fighting spirit of the nation
that we as a nation don't have
Indonesian still think of their past glory
well, I say it is time to wake up and smell the coffee
the reality is now things has changed

For some reasons that i dont want to say explicitly here, thinking about Li Mao coaching in INA there is a potential that he can attract and spot talents that perhaps current local coaches could not. Although at the same time i think it was a risky and maybe not necessary decision bringing him over.

Indonesian player is usually smaller and shorter compare to others (especially the ladies)
no need to compare with Europeans
but just compare with Asians such as China and Korea (strong built with a lot of muscles)
lack of nutrition ??? (eat too much ikan asin and gorengan???)

Herry Iman Pierngadi
He was Pelatnas MD coach, he also assisted Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya for the winning Gold medal in 2000 Sydney Olympic.
He trained Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan in early time Pelatnas. Kido was hired into Pelatnas as MS player then he requested Herry IP to move into MD Department.
Kido was paired with Hendra AG, Rian Sukmawan before fixed with Hendra Setiawan who paired with Joko Riyadi when joined into Pelatnas.

PB PBSI will relaunch Liga Bulutangkis (Badminton League) in this year since the last time was held in 2007, 8 men's team & 8 women's team will take part. Indonesia Badminton League will take place at DBL Arena Surabaya, 19-27 February 2011.

Since Tang had been in INA all along as PR before becoming coach, then I consider him local domestic made-in-INA product, not import stuff LM will be the import, direct from CHN

..he was already a coach (for CHN) prior to him returning to INA to coach the INA team (in the mid 80s)..but yes, in reality, TXH is Indonesian as he was born in Indonesia..

Btw, please tell your M'sian buddy that Lius replaced Rudy Hartono as PBSI's Head of Athlete Development in 2007. Prior to Lius taking that position, he was PBSI's Assistant Head of Athlete Development. And since 2007, Coach Christian Hadinata has been filling that position left by Lius..
